"Charlie, get away from that beast. He is spouting nothing but lies and is a threat to our people." Xander yelled, wiping the back of his hand over his bleeding lip. He looked like shit with a split lip, a bust eyebrow, and what I could only hope was a shattered cheekbone based on the dark purple coloring to it. "Shut the fuck up!" Charlie growled, stepping forward, and I instinctively grabbed her hand before she got too far away. She glanced down before interlacing our fingers and stopped. He wasn't worth it, and I wouldn't have her getting hurt on my watch.

The meeting room fell silent again. Nick groaned as he held his waist, cursing, “My back! What kind of people are you? Have you no law? Can’t we talk like civilized folk?!” Someone rushed to support him. Another pulled out a chair for him. He sat down like it was the most natural thing in the world, as if he was the boss here. Charlie didn’t get angry. He didn’t say a word. He stood there with one hand in his pocket, towering above Nick, watching him with amusement—so intently, with such bemusement, that it made Nick sweat.

They are only seeing Nicole as a big bad bully. Charlie and his friends were the first to have succeeded in laying their hands on Nicole Parker and so no one had any idea how things were going to turn out once Nicole became the victim. Charlie was aware of this fact and he was feeling even more proud of himself. For Charlie Green, it felt like he was able to step on Nicole Parker right on her face. But poor and stupid Charlie was making a grave mistake.
