Eva wasn’t the sort of girl to get her head turned by a good-looking man, but she was a sucker for a man with secrets, given she had one or two of her own. Chase manoeuvred the boat in the direction of the setting sun, which was now a fireball of red suspended on the smoky-blue plane of the horizon. A swathe of stratocumulus clouds reflected the burnished gold of the sun below and the grey and indigo bruise-like streaks of colour above.

The morning sunlight streamed through the mansion's windows, casting a warm glow over the opulent decor. Chase and I had decided to spend the day alone together, specifically saying he wanted a day away from pack duties and the problems challenging the pack, and just wanted us to spend time together. We aimed to create a perfect day, just for us. After a leisurely breakfast of scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, and freshly squeezed orange juice, Chase suggested a ride through the surrounding woods. I agreed, eager to escape the confines of the mansion and reconnect with nature.

I don't know why dad everyday read the newspaper. Soon mom came with my favorite meal. I ate my meal happily. "Slow down princess.", dad stated worriedly. Chase replies before hanging up. After the phone call with Chase, I lie back on the ground and look up at the sky. It is an absolutely perfect day. The sun is shining but there is a nice breeze to keep you from getting too hot in the sun. If I were back at Silver Wolf it would be the perfect day for a trip to the stables.
