MISTRESS OF THE GAME
I said, lying so smoothly it almost felt like truth.
"Sheila," he repeated, savoring it like a fine wine. "Beautiful name for a beautiful woman."
He flirted shamelessly as he played. At first, I just responded with coy smiles and half-laughs, keeping it light. But as the game heated up, so did our banter.
"You know," he said, throwing down a hand and losing miserably, "I'm starting to think you're bad luck after all."
I leaned closer, letting him get a whiff of my perfume, my lips brushing near his ear. "Maybe you just need to get me somewhere... quieter," I whispered, the suggestion heavy between us.
