She told him. The Void. A lower level in the Nine Hells dedicated to the imprisonment of Humans, Fae, Werewolves, and the like. They layered the cavernous Hell with a cave system so deep that many would lose their way if not properly guided. The deeper down the caves go, the worser the prisoners are. Zalakai sped up as he followed the winding passages through the lower level. Rayleigh not too far behind him. The screeches of Scouts overhead caused Rayleigh to stay close to him. After the previous encounter with them, she knew not to stray too far from his safety.

Lucien shrugged leading the way back towards the manor. The summer had certainly arrived which added one more complication to Kade's already very complicated life. The Hellhounds were about to crown their new Luna and, as beta, Kade needed to be there. He couldn't ask his friends to delay the ceremony and he couldn't not go. He had hoped to have Thalia by his side but that was proving less and less likely as every minute passed and he was still no closer to finding his mate. In human form, Haunt had human senses, except for sharpened hearing. In Haunt form, they had the keen senses of wolves coupled with superior strength, speed and agility, though they sacrificed the power of speech. Rain seemed to be stuck in between, and it had looked painful.

Standing on the pedestal with her wings glowing, was the smallest, most annoyingly chipper creature I had ever seen. A fucking pixie. Pink wings. Glittering freckles. A floating ball of unhinged cheer.

“Well, that little girl is Hell’s Bane.” “What?!”

He leans over and places a kiss on my ankle. I turn around and head for my dressing table. I wait, my back straight, while Elio passes a gold chain with a sun-shaped medal hanging from it. In the center, a white diamond sparkle with the letter G engraved around it. "Do you like it?" he asks me when he sees me playing with the pendant. "Much, grazie sole mio," I answer, giving him a slight smile through the mirror's reflection. The sun represents him. This is the origin of his name, Helios, the sun. The G is the initial of the Family. This jewel is not an ornament, it is a necklace and a chain to remind me that I belong to him and the Family.
