Chapter 5

"411.. 412.." Emily mumbled as her eyelids began to droop.

She's been lying in her bed for the past few minutes waiting for Lucius to come in. Closing her eyes tightly, she lets out a loud yawn, "Guys ready themselves in a very short time but that guy's an exception. He's not a guy, he's a lady!"

A knock on the door made Emily open her eyes. She didn't bother on moving from her position, "It took you so damn long!" She yelled in frustration as she hears the door click open and shut close.

"My brother sure does take his time."

Her eyes widened at the voice. Of course, she was expecting for Lucius so she could yell at him but she wasn't expecting that Axl would come, "Axl?"

"Yes?" Axl moves towards the bed and lies down beside her, facing the ceiling as well.

"I'm having regrets."

"And what do you think are those?"

"Dealing with the devil, agreeing to become a queen, marrying him." A nauseous feeling washed over her, she gently placed both of her hands on her tummy, letting out a small barf.

Cold erupted from the back of her hand and dashed throughout her body. She lifts her head and raises her brow questioningly at Axl.

"All will end soon." Axl faced her and winked.

"Is that what you meant in the note?"

"Nope. I better get going. My brother's here."

Emily blinked, completely confused. The cold feeling from the back of her hand disappeared only to realize Axl did too, "People come, people go."

"Okay, I'm ready."

She snapped her head to where the voice came from. She saw Lucius standing near the bed with his arms open, "So what do you think?" Both his eyebrows lifted and he gave her his smile made by confidence.

And some would come unnoticed.

She sat upright and stifled her laugh with a lip bite, "Are you serious?"

"What? Something wrong?" He asked both surprised and confused, "I'm positive enough I chose the best clothes to blend in."

He wore baggy shirt and pants. A golden chain necklace and a cap to finish his looks.

"You took so long to wear that? It's a no for me." She walks to him and grinned, "Wear something.. casual." Pushing him to the door, he only nodded and left.

She sat back on the edge of the bed as she faces the door, waiting for Lucius to return.

After a few sighs and yawns she gave out, knocks came. The door slowly opened and Lucius' head popped in, "Uh, I'm not sure if this is casual but it's all I could find in the closet." He smiled sheepishly at her.

"Don't be such a girl, come in!"

Lucius stepped in the room and closed the door behind him. He walked to her, towering her. She gazed up him from bottom to the top–he wore exactly the same clothes he wore days ago when he chased her.

"Do you not have any other clothes in your closet?" She says in a boring tone, her eyes meeting his.

"The clothes in my second closet are the ones I stole from mortals. So no, just this and the awesome outfit I wore earlier." He stated with his chin held high and his chest sticking out.

You have a bad sense of fashion, Lucius.

"Let's go." She gave out a half-smile as she holds Lucius hand, standing up. "Do your vacuum transportation thingy."

He looked down at her with his brows raised, he then relaxed and chuckled, "I can't."

"Why can't you?"

"Purposes. But let's do the old-fashioned way." He smiled at her and he faced the door. He raised his palm a few inches away from the door and slowly slide his hand mid-air from left to right. Burnt wood filled the room and smokes appeared, making Emily cough.

She narrowed her eyes then coughed, "What are you doing?" She coughed again between words.

"These symbols can create a portal that leads us to the mortal world."

He placed both his hands on the door knobs, wrapping his fingers. He twisted the knobs and gently pulled it open.

"Is that my room?" She asked with her eyes wide, she blinked a couple of times and she rubbed her eyes. There, she sees a window, her bed, and her blanket printed with a massive dreamcatcher colored in grey and white. In curiosity, she went through the doors, her foot stepping through the 'portal' and a wave of comfort washed over her.

She jumped and squealed in joy. "I miss this place!" She ran and plopped herself on her bed, causing her to let out a loud 'oof'.

"Quiet down if you don't want to get caught." Lucius entered. He turned on his heels and closed Emily's bedroom doors. The symbols he had written on the doors back in the castle are also written on Emily's doors. He raised his hand and swung gently from right to left until the symbols are completely concealed and back, it went to its original version.

"Emily? Is that you?"

Emily stiffened as she holds her breath and her eyes widened, "Shit."

Lucius faced her with a raised eyebrow, "What?"

"Hide!" Her voice came out as a whisper-yell, she slightly crouched down as she pointed her finger underneath her bed and shoots him a glare.

"I'd love to meet your mother."

"Emily? Why is there a guy's voice in your room?"

Emily stilled. What must she do to him now? Let him hide? No, she can't; he won't. Let him go back to hell? Perfect.

She stood up and walked to him. "Go back to hell, write those symbols on the door and go!" She said through gritted teeth as her finger constantly poked his chest with her brows furrowed at him.

He only looked at her in amusement, "Told you to quiet down."

"You told me after I sque–"

"Where have you been? You've been gone for a day! I've been looking everywhere for you! And Why do you look flawle-- err, Who is he? Why is he handsome and charming? You have a boyfriend? Why didn't you tell me?"

Emily faced her mother as she bites her lip with her finger still poked to Lucius' chest. Her eyes widened. Why didn't I notice the door open? The wheels inside her mind kept turning, beads of sweat rolled down and the beating of her heart shifted to an abnormal rate.

"Technically, I'm her husband."
