Kyoko tugged Akiko’s hand again, and reflexively, Akiko caught a falling cherry blossom petal in front of her. After some insistence, Akiko finally followed Kyoko’s quick steps. But her eyes couldn’t stop darting around, enjoying the pink petals floating through the air. Clearly, Akiko wanted to walk slower and take in the breathtaking scenery. It wasn’t every day she could visit Nishinomaru Park, home to about 300 cherry blossom trees, all blooming at once. Spring arrived as promised, bringing with it all its melancholic beauty. Akiko liked summer, but the two weeks when cherry blossoms bloomed in spring almost rivaled the joy she felt when summer came. The sight was too beautiful to ignore

The bird was back. Perched outside of the attic window, it chirped a cheerful song, fluttering its wings and tapping its beak on the glass. Ella Sinders found herself distracted again. The distant but sufficiently audible chirping of the blue jay birds filled by ears as I listened gleefully whilst fixing my gaze out the window of the room and on to the beautiful cherry blossom trees. I let out subtle groans as I alighted from my unusually soft bed and walked towards the mirror to arrange my hair.

What do you think you’re doing?” Sophia, linking her arm with Mom’s, tried to appease her. “Yes, Charlotte, you can’t be upset just because Mom and Ethan went to Moonlake with me and didn’t bring you. “Look at all this is so morbid! And cursing Grandpa… Please don’t do that. Next time, we’ll take you with us, okay? Don’t blame me. I’m sorry…”
