My stepbrother
I am starting to beat myself up when she takes my head in her hands, and she kisses my lips before pulling away with a smile.
“What’s my favorite flower?”
“Sakurasou, you gave me one in Japan when we visited that flower shop, though I still don’t know why?”
“It symbolizes long-lasting love. It was my way of saying, I love you after you told me you love me.” I choke up when I hear the reason. If this were our wedding day, I swear I would cry because that is the only time I’ll allow happy tears. I close my eyes, pushing back the swell of emotion, and lean in to kiss her lips before pulling away.
