The Rose Withered in the Seventh Autumn

The Rose Withered in the Seventh Autumn

I'd been in a secret relationship with Nathan for six years. He said we couldn't go public because of his career. So we always split the bill, and anniversary gifts never cost more than fifteen dollars. The night before our anniversary, I asked him for the sixth time when he'd come home with me to meet my family. He turned me down again. "Ivy, I just think things are moving a little fast. Marriage is a lifetime commitment, after all." So I went home alone, carrying the expensive cheese and wine he'd bought for my mom. I pushed open the door and found the living room trashed. My stepsister Chloe stood there with a smug grin on her face. "Mrs. Mercer, you owe my family a million dollars. You'v

SAVOUR: THE MAFIA'S BABYSITTER

SAVOUR: THE MAFIA'S BABYSITTER

Within the walls of the quiet room, I can feel my thoughts Dillon's emptiness, they are so loud that I want to close my ears and scream at them to just shut the fuck up. Just like my thoughts, my eyes also wander around the room and they land on the colorful bunch of tulips, lying lifeless on the floor. Try don't look as fresh as they were in the morning, they are quilting and fighting a battle to keep their blossom alive just like I did when tried to fight all the odds and despair life would offer. But now as I look at the flower, I feel that we are to see the same faith because sooner or later, our colors will fade and what will be left are some dead petals.

The Moon's Chosen

The Moon's Chosen

Slowly, he turned his head toward the small table near the window where a crystal vase usually held fresh flowers—bright, vibrant, always carefully arranged. Now, the flowers drooped lifelessly over the rim. No. Not drooped. Withered. Their petals were shriveled, colorless, clinging weakly to brittle stems. Some had fallen entirely, scattered across the table like dead things. Only the stem—the woody base—remained upright. Alec stared at it. “That’s… impossible,” he said quietly. He stepped closer, inspecting the flowers as if proximity might somehow change them back. He touched one gently. It crumbled beneath his fingers.

Until The Last Day

Until The Last Day

Vincent fell forward, collapsing into her arms, bloodied but alive, and his body shaking with shallow breaths. She held him tight, sobbing, “I have you…I have you…l've got you okay." The garden roared in fury. Every flower dried up at once, its red petals wilting back to black. The ground shook violently as it cracked wide beneath them. Vincent coughed, his voice weak as he whispered, “Camela…the ground…” The earth split wide open beneath them as rows of dead flowers tumbled into the abyss. The gigantic flower convulsed one last time before its roots tore free with a screeching sound, and sap sprayed everywhere.

Yearning for Her Return

Yearning for Her Return

After all, wouldn't a wilted rose prove it was once a beautiful bloom? As she stared at the rose, she suddenly recalled a quote: "Life is like a garden. It can produce the most beautiful blooms." Rebecca didn't understand why others couldn't appreciate this artificial flower that was still alive just because it looked withered.

Ellen Addawe
I like the depth of this book, the character of the FL wherein she learns a lot in her life experiences, her moving on from the past and enjoying her life in the present. Not the typical love story wherein after all the heartaches, betrayal & rejection, still the FL gives the ML a second chance.
Blessing Sam-somanya
I stopped reading this book the moment Rebecca got married to someone else and Daniel is dying of late stage cancer, after all he suffered in the hands of his evil brother and family, I expected a happy ending for him and Rebecca but the writer chose other wise. He doesn't deserve this tragic ending

The Veil Of Sinner

The Veil Of Sinner

And it would not be long enough before she might lose herself physically too if he would continue to harm her like this. Her eyes glossed up by staring at that flower which somehow made her feel her own self in it. Prisila walked towards her, and found her looking down at that shrivelled flower instead of those beautifully blooming flowers in front of her. Her eyes chose to see the worst of inevitable end instead of the beauty of a fading beginning. “I think, the gardener…..” Prisila stopped herself from further speaking when she noticed a tear falling from Eizlina's eyes and dropping on that dying flower.

The Captive

The Captive

" I said as a tear shamefully trickled down my cheek now, as though the clenching of my fists initially would have ever stopped it. I turned away from him to leave now since I had done what I came here to do. But the bastard was questionably quick enough to grip my wrist, stopping me abruptly. His hands were fidgety, relatively loose in fact but somehow, I could not yank my hand away from his hold even when I tried to. "But these tulips weren't happy where they were because they noticed how distressed I was. Don't ask me how but they sure did notice. They agreed to my request to pluck them irrespective of how much the mission had failed countless times. They were willing to be plucked even

The Tyrant alpha

The Tyrant alpha

“Not the ashbalm. Especially not now that it’s finally blooming.” My gaze darts to the flowers, and it’s a miracle. The white buds, still speckled with Eldrick’s blood, are unfurling into delicate petals as intricate as tatted lace, and they glow. The entire wheelbarrow is illuminated as if by moonlight. And the scent. It fills my nose and thrums in my veins. It smells like perfect memories and wonderous dreams. “Well, I guess it wasn’t the soil that was the issue after all,” the witch says, gathering her skirts and rising from a bench. “I guess it just wanted a different kind of watering.”

The Wilted Blossoms of Love

The Wilted Blossoms of Love

Whenever another woman tried to get close, his response had always been the same—he would raise up his hand with the wedding ring on and say, "Sorry, I have to be with my wife." Everyone who knew us was aware of his "devoted husband" behavior, and they all envied me for being deeply loved by a dedicated and outstanding man like Benjamin. And so the back-and-forth flirty messages on his WhatsApp account felt like a dagger that stabbed into me over and over again. It was absolutely disgusting. I pushed away the unruly head he had affectionately nudged against me. "I'm going to get a glass of water," I said impassively. Benjamin grinned. "I'll get it for you, Lena."

Rejected By My Husband, Claimed By The Three Mafia Alphas

The garden, it had borne witness to countless tears, and I felt an overwhelming sense of sorrow wash over me as I stood there. My gaze fell upon the lily flower section, its delicate white petals moving gently in the breeze near the soft gurgle of the water fountain. I felt a pang in my heart as I gazed at the flowers, their elegance and purity a stark contrast to the ugliness that had destroyed my marriage. I couldn't help but think that I had once hoped my union with Adriel would be as beautiful and unblemished just as these lilies.
