MAFIA RULES

MAFIA RULES

I say astonished, Matteo actually laughed. "There is something you should know. Chicago is known for their beautiful women. Last I checked, the women out numbered the men seven to one, I don't think it has changed much in the past year. New York is the exact opposite. We have birthed soldiers, powerful and influential business men, ruthless enforcers for decades it's only right if we even the playing field" he wiggled his eyebrows a smile playing on his lips. "Did you just call us bargaining chips? We're people you know. We deserve a choice. As a Chicago woman I'm telli-"

The last 20+ chapters were the highlight and that’s what kept me reading. I read but loved it. I kept re-reading Niko’s POV. The steamy scenes kind of died down a little. Wish I knew what happened to the other characters. Overall I enjoyed it and I would read Eva’s story next too. Thank you author!

I read this book over a month ago and still can't stop thinking about it! I read it all nonstop in less than 2 days. I couldn't even put it down to go to sleep. The top mafia story I've read so far! I could say much more, but don't want to give anything away to those who haven't read it yet. Love!!!

Princess Cromwell and Her Six Brothers

Princess Cromwell and Her Six Brothers

Amelia put down the compact, actually hadn't used it, looked over, still smiling: "Chicago was beautiful, an international city, everyone liked to come." Things went so smoothly, and Emmy started talking more: "Then you guys must have been to the Michigan Avenue Corridor, right? It's really pretty there, and there are some snacks and stuff, you have to try them. Crab roe noodles, braised pork, here in Chicago, crab roe noodles and butterfly pastries are the most famous, old brands." "Haven't even had time to eat, just came straight to the exchange." Amelia lowered her voice, "You know, it's all about getting ahead."

My Ex's Boss is My Baby's Father

My Ex's Boss is My Baby's Father

She did not need to. In Chicago, a woman with her teenage daughter beside her said the daughter had failed her first year of university and believed her life was over, and that she had given her the book and the daughter had read it in two days and was now reapplying to a different programme in something she actually wanted to study. The daughter looked at Chloe with the slightly uncomfortable expression of a teenager being used as an example and said: "The part about the Milan show. Where you went even though you had no business going. I read that part like ten times."

UNDISCLOSED

UNDISCLOSED

He told her about New York about the apartment that Cressida had once described as looking like nobody lived there, which he had disputed and then quietly acknowledged was accurate. "You should see it," he said. "It is extremely well furnished and completely impersonal." "Efficient," she said. "That's what I told myself." He looked at his glass. "I've been thinking about that lately. About the difference between efficient and empty." She looked at him. "And?" "And I think I spent a long time confusing them." He paused. "Chicago doesn't feel empty." "Chicago has many things," she agreed. "Empty is not one of them."

THE MAFIA'S BLOODY POSSESSION

THE MAFIA'S BLOODY POSSESSION

Three rotating positions now, no face yet. I forwarded it to Nikolai without comment and went to work. Around midday I found Ace in the library. He had pulled three books off the shelf and was reading the back covers one after the other. "Finding anything useful," I said from the doorway. He looked up. "Depends on what useful means." "Are any of them interesting." He held one up. "This one is about the history of organised crime in Chicago. I feel like that is either very relevant or deeply ironic given where I am standing."

Falling For His Forsaken Wife

Falling For His Forsaken Wife

Sunday morning, the reviews started publishing. The Chicago Tribune gave a rave review, calling the retrospective "essential viewing for anyone interested in contemporary American art." They praised the progression from raw emotional work to sophisticated conceptual exploration. They called the Chicago series "brave in its refusal to provide easy answers." The New York Times was more measured but still positive. They acknowledged my technical skill and emotional honesty. However, they questioned whether a twenty-nine-year-old merited a retrospective, suggesting the exhibition was premature. Artforum published two reviews—one praising the retrospective as documentation of rapid artistic devel

THE BARREN WIFE HE SHAMED WAS NEVER THE PROBLEM

THE BARREN WIFE HE SHAMED WAS NEVER THE PROBLEM

I stood in my apartment; my apartment, my lamp, my bookshelf, my research notes, my life, and I breathed. Outside, Chicago was doing what it did. The El rattled. The wind moved off the lake. Somewhere blocks away a car horn and somewhere else a laugh and somewhere else the ordinary magnificent percussion of a city that never stopped regardless of what was happening inside the lives it held. I went to the desk. I picked up Dr. Webb's notes. I went back to work.

The Mafia Man wants my Heart

The Mafia Man wants my Heart

The moment I stepped off the train and into the cool Chicago air, a shiver ran down my spine. The city was alive—too alive. Streetlights flickered in the fading evening light, illuminating the busy sidewalks where businessmen hurried past, laughter spilled from a nearby bar, and the faint scent of roasted chestnuts lingered in the air. Yet, beneath the surface, something felt… off. I pulled my coat tighter around me and shifted my overnight bag higher onto my shoulder. I wasn’t here for sightseeing. I was here because my mother, Emily Cruz, practically forced me to attend a book club event in her place. The thought made me sigh.
