Just leave me alone. The darkness around her provided no comfort. The sweat escaping Kathy’s pores dotted her skin like chips of frost, and a chill worked through her as a summer breeze blew into the alley. Kathy tried to remember if there was any obstacle she might trip over. She was far enough away from the audience to risk a look behind her, but the figures frozen at the end of the passage transfixed her sight. The onlookers were bathed in shadow despite the sunlight she knew was scalding them. Ebony statues, they did not move when the organ grinder returned to his performance.

“Doesn’t matter, bruv. It just is.” Jesus. He should’ve never let Rhett convince him to hire this guy. Chills was a South London hood. He’d moved to Miami years ago but never dropped the rough dialect and heavy accent. He never understood half of the things that Chills said. Chills continued, “We were all around the building. What exactly is it? "They'll kill you, too."

“We stand on opposite sides.” Fred did not ask more once he heard Olivia. When they arrived at the northern suburbs, Fred opened the laptop and began his search. There were two factories with cold storage in the area, but since the space in the picture was really small, it could also be a chiller for domestic use. In the suburbs, if someone were to have a chiller at home, it would probably be near the river. After searching, lo and behold, there was a lake nearby. Suddenly, Olivia saw a truck with a chiller and an ice cream logo passing them.
