She looks at me and frowns with her pretty brown eyes. "You look young. How old are you?"
"17."
"17?" She raises an eyebrow. "I'm also 17. You're going to be a senior this year?"
"Junior," I mumble.
"Okay, I'm gonna enter senior year. I'm actually turning 18 soon. So, I'm older," she says.
"Okay," I smile. "Are you Japanese?"
"Yeah, I'm Japanese. But I'm born here. My parents settled here before my birth. I've been to Japan only a few times."
