You’ve been so wrapped up in work. I opted to ignore her, well less opted, and more couldn’t be bothered to hear her. I was too busy trying to keep the tears back as Crista clasped the ornate rose gold necklace accented with diamonds and pearls around my neck. I know what you’re thinking. Although she had never liked Natalie, she now put on a show of politeness. "Nat, my necklace just broke. Would you mind coming with me to pick out another one from my room?" Christina spoke gently but cast a glance at the necklace around Natalie's neck. Clearly, she had heard the gossip from the banquet. She hadn't noticed it when she was near Elizabeth earlier. But now, seeing Natalie in her expensive outfit and jewelry, she couldn't help but feel a twinge of jealousy. Krista then put some earrings in my ears, thin chains that looked like they went through my ears. “There. Now you’re complete. If Caspian doesn’t fall flat on his face when he sees you, you are welcome to wear a suit at our wedding.”

Christina complained shifting position, and jiggling her breasts so that he could have a clear look at them. She was wearing a sheer nightdress that showed off the full jut of her breasts and pointy nipples. Once upon a time, he would have been all over that, but now, he wasn’t even even remotely interested. Christina apparently thought that she could get him to respond because she leaned in again to kiss him. This time around, he let her, and she shifted position to kiss him better, all the while making sounds that were extremely annoying to him. He sat there passively and let her do what she wanted, knowing that she would soon stop.
