she complained.
“Nor do I,” I agreed. “What time is it, anyway?”
“It’s three in the morning,” she said.
I hopped off the bed. “I need to go clean up.”
She slid off the other side of the bed and slipped on her robe. “I’m up now. I might as well fix us some hot chocolate. Maybe it will help us go back to sleep.”
I smiled my thanks and headed for the bedroom door.
“Esmerelda?” she said with hesitancy. When I stopped walking and looked at her, questioningly, she said, “Ghosts don’t have semen, right?”
