--- Pov: Ember. Meanwhile, Ember walked through town with Lorna beside her, past the market and down the quieter roads toward the east side of Raven’s Peak. Lorna kept her hood up, eyes flitting nervously over rooftops and alleyways. “You’re safe,” Ember said softly. “People here won’t turn you away.” Lorna nodded, but didn’t speak. They entered a modest building with ivy curling up the brick. Ember pressed the elevator button and the doors opened with a quiet chime.

Her name was Ember, and she had traveled from the burned lands in the far south, where the gold flowers grew through the ash. "The watcher called me," Ember said, standing at the garden gate. "It said there was healing here for me." Mira studied with her. There was a rawness in Ember's gaze, a grief that had not yet found its shape. The watcher had called her, yes—but not to teach. To be held. "What healing do you seek?" Mira asked. Ember's voice was steady, but her hands trembled. "I was a child when the fire came. My family died. My village burned. The gold flowers grew through the ashes, and the watcher showed me this place. It said I would find rest here."

"Huh? I.." "Are you even listening? What are you doing over there?" Mary's skeptical and dissatisfied gaze made her start walking towards Ember and just as if on sync, Zaire started getting out of his hideout. Ember panicked all at once and her voice went up a notch that pressed a pause to both of them. "YES. STOP. I know who you're talking about so continue. And I think the books you were talking about are on that shelf," Ember said out of the blue with no knowledge of it herself. And that bought her some time to gather it all.

"All this assumes you even make it through the journey." I frowned at her. "What do you mean?" "The place you're going is called Ember Hallow. People have sought answers there, but only a handful have returned. Those who do are often changed, not themselves anymore. Some go mad, others are forever silent. Ember Hallow isn't for the faint of heart. The answers you find might break you, or they might make you. " She shrugged. "You can't know." "I see," I said, turning back to the men and offering them a smile. "And that's what you guys were arguing about, yes?" I asked, the smile still on my face.

"You are just a kind-hearted lady, how come I don't see that in the beginning?" "Maybe because you were a bit blind? It's normal for people who have a penchant for mischief. I will not repeat myself, darling. If you try to make me angry, I will show you the other side of me which not many people are privy to." Ember smiled and walked out of her room. As she headed downstairs, Ellie ended the call and smiled as she had it on record now. "Dad, did you hear what she just said?" "That she can make you disappear and a lot of mean stuff?"

“So, Miss Sleuth, I understand that you’ve had quite an adventure.” “Esmerelda,” I said, softly. “Call me Esmerelda.” He nodded. “Alright. Esmerelda, can you tell me a bit about what happened?” I hesitated going into detail with someone in the medical profession. It was such a crazy story. What if he thought me just that? What if he thought me crazy? Sure, he was a member of the society, but that didn’t mean that he’d been exposed to all that there is out there. What if his knowledge of the paranormal is more limited than that of Lance or Killian?

After discussing the situation with Agatha as best she could without the woman using her tongue to speak, she promised to be as quick as she could and teleported from the farmhouse. Following Ebenezer through dimensional space was very different from simply focusing on a location and teleporting there. I've been working on a book called "Love Amongst the Shadows" it's in the same universe as these stories and eventually those characters will meet with these. Another one named Jeremy came in with a bright smile. He was a beautiful lad. He had orange hair, brown bright gazes…. Why does Landon have such beautiful people around him?
