I read the last few paragraphs of “The Afterwards,” about pie crumbs in the table seams.

He bit on her sensitive skin, intending to leave a mark, signifying his claim on her. Kragen growled inside him, getting excited especially when Amarah started responding back to Clayton’s actions. He became aroused as he felt Amarah getting stimulated, the sexual instinct in him becoming more and more dominant. “C-Clayton,” Amarah whispered. Clayton looked up at her, his thoughts already obscure from what he is feeling. Clint growls low in his chest but Riley smacks him with the back of her hand. “Oh stop. I knew he had to be charming if he snagged Leana,” she says.

I feel even more confident that he heard me when he says he’s going to stay. There is something magical here in Araphyra, so perhaps, I can connect again while we’re here. She pretended to be busy but she was well aware of his searing gaze. His eyes were glued to her face, looking at her without blinking. Her skin started tingling.

My mind swirled with options. my phone dinged loudly with a text from Clayton . I swallowed the rest of the martini in one gulp before texting back . I stepped away from the bar as another happy customer stole the abandoned chair. From this stand point I could instantly tell she didn't get the overly flirty side if sin.
