She smiled at the thought and returned her attention to the movie. Her phone rang again, disturbing the movie. She rejected the call when she saw Adrian's name on the screen. She placed the phone face down on the arm rest beside her. The phone continued to ring but she ignored it.

We left the museum and I was supposed to have a visit with my mother after taking the two children home, but she didn’t show. I say, trying to get up and go. “Does this have anything to do with them creeping around Blood Claw yesterday,” Angel asks, folding her hands in front of herself. I look away, irritated that she knew. But she was a Shadow for a long time before joining the council and little got past her. She wouldn't be doing her job if she didn't have her hand on every little thing. When I didn’t answer she decided to explain herself. “Even though Blood Claw was left to rot for the most part, I have wards on it, I know immediately if anyone tries to step foot on the property,” she says, as if it should have been obvious. I hide my frown.
