Cloud Atlas Novel Synopsis

Nic menjadikan Cloud istri, hanya untuk dijadikan alat balas dendam ke ayah wanita itu. Ia memiliki keyakinan membuat Cloud menderita adalah balasan yang paling mengerikan untuk keluarga Prawira. Di malam pertama mereka Cloud melempar sebuah surat perjanjian, tapi Nic mencoretnya penuh kesombongan. Pria itu malah mengambil haknya sebagai suami, memaksa Cloud hamil dengan tujuan agar semakin tidak bisa lari dari jeratannya. Segala upaya Cloud coba untuk lepas dari Nic, tapi tampak sia-sia. "Are you sure you want to change your name, Ms. Anderson? You'll have to change your degree certificate, documentation, and passport once you do." Noelle Anderson nods. "I'm sure." The employee tries to talk her out of it. "It's quite troublesome for adults to change their names, and your current name sounds nice. Are you sure you don't want to think about it?" "No, I'm done thinking." She signs the form. "Sorry for the trouble and thanks." "Alright, then. The name you're changing to is… Aria Byrd, right?" "Yeah." Aria Byrd—it means a flight to freedom.

The day after we set our wedding date for the tenth time, my fiancé reached past me to kiss his adopted sister. He presented crimson roses to her as she descended from the stage. "My princess, in this lifetime, I'll only ever be your protector." I stood quietly beyond the cheering crowd, then turned and walked away without looking back. "May Ms. Landeau and Mr. York grow old in harmony and be blessed with children." All of my colleagues are stunned, to say the least. At that moment, Cheryl quickly pulls me into her office. "Now, stop throwing that tantrum of yours and get rid of the banner. Once Jason's mom passes away, I'll file for a divorce from him." I just smile as I set off more fireworks at the doorway. Sejak saat itu pula Atlas tak pernah mengganggunya dan selalu bersemu merah saat melihatnya. Setelah seminggu menghindar, Atlas menyinggung soal one stand night dengannya dan berkata akan bertanggungjawab. Apa maksudnya? Anya kebingungan, tapi karena beberapa alasan, dia kemudian memanfaatkan situasi dengan menjadikan kesalahpahaman Atlas untuk kepentingannya sendiri. Meskipun itu berarti dia harus menjadi perfect liar.
