Silas turned his back on the most powerful man I knew, leaving Harrison Thorne standing in the middle of the gallery fuming.
"Look at you," a voice purred, cutting through the hum.
I turned my head. Isabelle was standing just outside the perimeter of my cage. She was dressed to kill, a crimson silk dress that looked like a splash of fresh blood against the grey concrete. She looked impeccable, her hair perfectly styled, a glass of champagne held delicately in her hand.
"Isabelle," I rasped.
She crouched down, her eyes sparkling with a malicious glee. She took a slow sip of her drink, her gaze raking over my torn clothes and the mud on my face.
