She lists them off: “Clint Harrison from Eclipse, and Neil Reed from Night Howlers.” Her grin suggests she is thrilled with our group, and so am I. Four tough packs represented, plus Zahra the total badass.

Harley quickly pushed Harvey away and rushed toward Leona, planning to wipe the cinnabar off her face. “No! You can’t!” Slap! I concluded as we wandered around the deserted camp. “Did they leave because they knew we were coming?” I was just about to remind Clara not to touch anything when I found her squatted near the logs. “Let’s not touch—” my words were cut off as I saw Clara pick up something from the ground. I dropped into my chair and waved off my wolves as they tried to rise. “Good of you to show up,” said my Beta, Harley, with a snort. She was a tomboy, her black hair cropped short and her ears glinting with multiple silver piercings. It still seemed odd to see her with her natural hair colour – back before the Eternal Winter, before our trade with the other packs had dried up, she’d dyed her hair pastel pink. Tattoos inked her whole body, with the words love and hate across each set of knuckles respectively. She flexed the hand with hate on and smirked up at me.

Harley says, taking another chip and eating it. "Again, don't talk about her that way," I mutter, my hand gripping the water cup harder. "I wouldn't if you told me who she is to you!" Carson steps in. "She's the Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack." "Why would you be fiddling around with the Blood Moon Pack? Trying to get killed, are you?" Harley asks. "No." "Why did you hurt when we were racing? You fell to the ground in pain and I didn't know why. You scared me, Liam!"

Then I looked up and saw a small building with a wooden sign that said The Howling Hearth. Caspian slowed to a walk, still holding my hand. “Here we are.” I stared at it. “A clubhouse?” “Best one in Ironmoor,” he said, grinning. “They do karaoke on Tuesdays.” I blinked. “Karaoke?” “Karaoke,” he confirmed. “And spicy turkey wings. You haven’t lived until you’ve tried them. I stared at the small clubhouse hidden between several shops. Then looked back at him. “You’re the Lycan King.”
