The bruises from my humiliating fall at dinner had finally faded to a sickly, yellowish-green, barely visible to the naked eye. In three days, I would turn eighteen. I would stand before the entire Moonstone Pack for my coming of age ceremony. In three days, I would be expected to shift into my wolf for the very first time with all eyes on me. I couldn't, I just knew it. My reflection stared back at me through the cracked mirror, water still dripping down my hair and my face after my morning wash. My hands gripped the edge of the sink tightly.

It was enough that I lived in an orphanage that sheltered minors until they came of age. It was the reason I told them I was only sixteen when I came here two years ago. And without a wolf and no record of me everywhere, no one doubted my age. I was supposed to graduate from the orphanage next month. And I was already thinking of living as a human. But maybe a month earlier wouldn’t be that bad. I just had to make sure I could get away from here as far as I could, at least until the feast, so no one would come looking for me anymore.

I rushed to my room and put on a new outfit - a black dress with ankle boots, and brushed out my long, wavy hair. As I rummaged through my jewelry box, I came across the necklace that my parents gave me yesterday for my 18th birthday. It was a silver chain with a small charm in the shape of a wolf. I smiled, feeling a surge of pride and love for my family. I put the necklace on and looked at myself in the mirror, feeling like I had finally come of age. The legal age of 18. As the sun began to set, my friends started to arrive. I greeted them at the door, feeling a rush of excitement as I saw them all together again. We hugged and chatted excitedly, catching up on everything that had happened

I had no education and no brains, but he was after me. So many times, I had succeeded in running away from him, but he followed me. "Why don't you let me go? I am tired,"I closed my eyes, leaning my aching back on the seat's backrest. I listened to my bones snapping and breaking as I leaned, wondering if someone of my age was supposed to experience this. I will be turning eighteen at midnight today, but my bones cracked like those of a ninety-year-old, as if letting the world know how tired I was.

And I’d be honest, things weren't always this bad. It all changed when I turned 16. Turning 16 was a great day for a werewolf as that was the coming-of-age day for us, and that was the day everyone would get their wolf. However, I waited and waited like everyone else until the last day of that year but I still didn't get a wolf. I recall crying hard every night and begging the goddess not to humiliate me because being passed as an omega maid was already bad enough, but being a runt…my life would ultimately become a hell-hole. Yet nothing…happened.

His eyes give nothing away of his emotions, and his gaze never leaves mine. All the pack members celebrated these two special events in their lives. Each member would celebrate their eighteenth birthday as a Coming-of-Age ceremony and their first shift. It was like a rite of passage for the Crystal Lake Pack, and we took great pride in these monumental moments. Luna Rosaline would make sure everyone was celebrated in one way or another, even if their parents didn’t have money for a big party. She even provided group parties in the gardens for the Omegas who came of age. Since I was shifting by the age of five, I didn’t get to experience these things.

He sighed, and I shook my head, “But I don´t want to leave…” I pouted, and he sighed, “One more week…” he said, pressing his forehead to mine, “One more week…” I repeated, closing the distance between him and me. I kissed him tenderly; I didn´t want to risk doing something that would strain his patience to the point of breaking the stupid rules my parents set when I was a kid. I was thankful for those rules because they allowed me to have a protected childhood, my innocence and development taking their normal course. However, today, at 21 years old, I am way past my coming of age, and I have no idea why my parents set that age instead of 18.

I pleaded as I wanted to know his story . So it was my one day story , I was living on this earth from 16 years . Oh yeah I forgot to tell you that day I just completed my 16 years . Now I am a sweet sixteen , but the thing which changed my life or you can say where I experienced something very much different from all my experiences was that one day . A man who helped me when I was unconscious took me to his house , hahaha at first I thought he might be some kidnapper but he changed my thoughts .

Jace says to me, getting up from the chair he was at and comes closer to me. "I didn't have a choice. I was 14, I was a minor. And where I came from and my background. I had to do it." I don't look fazed when he comes over to me and comes close to my face. "what was your background?" Eli asks, he asks a lot of bloody questions. Jasper and I look at each other, I look back at Eli.

My feet I could feel could not carry me anymore. ‘Is this what I get from a new age?’ I screamed almost to the top of my voice. Incredibly, I've turned older, beginning a new age amongst the teen wolves in the wolf clans. I tossed my pillow into the air, rushed into the shower room and washed my body. My breast had increased in size as I unhooked my bra, I saw myself in the mirror. ‘It is getting bigger!’ Immediately I recovered from the dismay. It was what I had expected from new age, a sign, just a sign to prove to the world that I am of age and could no longer be seen as what I considered as a “kid wolf”.
