That was the look of someone who thought he owned the place. “And you are?” I frowned. The mysterious man let out a chuckle. My eyes scanned his heart-shaped lips before they traveled back to his eyes. His dark brown hair was styled into a sloppy ponytail, giving him a bold look. “I don’t know who you are, but your hair looks good!” Ashley spoke out of nowhere. “Tell me? What kind of products do you use?” She stood on her toes to touch his hair. The man had a startled expression on his face, and it was probably because he had yet to meet someone like Ashley. “Uh...I wash it with aloe vera and healing clay, and after that, I put in some tea tree mint conditioner and...who are you?”

I was right when I assumed he was fit. He’s muscular but in a lean way. He’s not bulky like my brother Ivan. His muscles have definition, but they are more proportioned to his frame. A few dark brown hairs on his chest match the trail of hair from his navel down. I blushed as my eyes almost went past his navel. I was thankful when he shifted to his wolf. I tried to put my hair into an elegant bun, but I don't think I quite succeeded. Connor walks up behind me and places his hands on my waist. "You're beautiful no matter how your hair is." My desperation was a tangible thing, thick enough to choke on. “I promise,” I said, my voice barely more than a whisper. Conrad smiled—small and satisfied, like a fisherman who'd just snagged a particularly stubborn salmon. “Good.” He let that moment settle before his gaze swept over me with surgical precision. “But first…” He paused, lips curving slightly, “We need to fix your look.” I glanced down at myself instinctively—jeans, jacket, faded shirt still damp from the rain. Just moments ago, this outfit had felt like comfortable anonymity. Now, it felt like a brand of shame.

After a very steamy shower, I walked out into our closet, and chose a pair of black leggings and a long, royal blue silk button up shirt with three-quarter sleeves. I decided on a pair of black flats and then I went to my make up table to blow dry my hair. I left it down and just let it do its own thing. I really didn't feel like doing anything special with it. His face appeared pale and their was something in his gaze that I couldn’t quite place my finger on. He had a towel wrapped around his waist, indicating he had just finished taking a bath. This sight of him caught me off guard. His usually well-groomed hair was slightly tousled, with droplets of water trickling down his strong neck and into the defined lines of his chest. His toned arms glistened under the soft light, and his mischievous eyes held a spark I hadn't noticed before. In that moment, Conrad seemed different to me, more alluring, on another level of hot-bad- boy.

"Haha, at such an old age, what can you do if you have hair? Do you still want to find a girlfriend?" Zhou Tian chuckled and tried harder. "Uh-huh!" Fisherman was in a terrible state. A large handful of his hair had been torn off by Zhou Tian, leaving less than a hundred hairs. "This hairstyle is good. You can keep it like this in the future." Zhou Tian smiled playfully. I bit the inside of my cheek as I was reminded of Conrad's presence in the room. ‘Was Conrad proud when he had me?’ I asked myself and managed to say a thank you to Mr. Fisher with a bright smile before my eyes went to scanning everyone in the room in search of Conrad. I was positive about not wanting to see him, yet, I couldn't stay for a minute without lifting my eyes to the door in hopes to see Conrad bursting through the door. “How am I to believe that the marginal profit will be as you have said?” Alpha Kinsley of Dark Crescent, one of our new clients, asked me.

Charlotte reasons. Conrad rubs her forehead, shaking her head and turning on the shower to heat up for a minute. "I've gotta go; I have to get back to the office in a bit.
