My name is Daniel Braxton, the Beta of the pack.” “Pleasure is all mine, but there's no need for formalities, just call me Cordelia.” I told him with a polite smile. He had this vibe about him, very friendly and familiar in a way. He nodded, “I'll go get the coffin then.” Cadell strode away and I followed him, my heels sinking slightly into the grass and I really wanted to take them off. “Didn't think you have a friendly bone in your body.” He said with a voice full of anger.

I had no doubt about it. But then my life would become more messed up than it already is. “Alpha or not, that wolf was able to land enough blows to cause damage and something in Aspen's body is trying to make the damage, permanent.” Cordelia said, her gray eyes also held a hint of worry in them. I’d never met her this personally before, but Lily had once introduced the woman as their childhood friend. She was also Sienna the nanny's daughter. Their faces held similarities, Cordelia looked more like a younger version of her and seemed to be in her mid thirties.

“ I don’t even know how you thought that you will be able to get away from me, did I not tell you that you cannot run away before you have paid me back for everything that you have done? I haven’t even given you half of the pain that you have given to me.” Cordelia didn’t raise her head instead she continued to pick the shards on the floor and then placed them on the tray one by one, her body was crouched and Levy could see the blisters forming on her skin and with one look she could see that the woman was an omega, she didn’t have any powers nor was she a powerful female but she did have a lot of pride, she didn’t bow her head in front of Damien’s alpha vibes and went on doing her own thing

the guy grinned revealing very beautiful teeth , he looked past Roman and waved at me. “hi. I’m Cory”. “Camila” I replied grinning too. Roman gave him a glare. Cory rolled his eyes and handed Roman some documents. “don’t smile at him” Roman said to me “he’s my secretary”. “i thought secretaries were girls” I replied.

Cordelia was suddenly sounding different, and the moment she raised her gaze, Kyla’s frown deepened. The guilt, the helpless woman was gone. Replaced by an aura she couldn’t pinpoint. She was creepy. Even her trembling hands moved elegantly. "Who are you really?" He asked. Cordelia licked sauce from her lower lip and rose gently. The men behind Carlos drew their guns and aimed at her. The clicking sound made Kyla's heart skipped. Cordelia chuckled, removing the torn cloak slowly. Carlos’s eyes widened, jaw tightening. The dragon tattoo was on her shoulder.

I’m talking to Mish when that she-demon comes storming up. “Liam. Where is Alpha King. I can’t find him”. Goddess Cordelia’s whiny voice is annoying. “He is avoiding you in the parts of the pack house you can’t get to him”. She stomps her foot like a 5 year old. “Then go get him or I will get my father to get him”. Mish can sense I’m about to growl at her which wouldn’t be a good look so she steps in. “This must be the famous Cordelia I have heard about”. She says it in a high-pitched annoying way that I don’t understand.

I turned back dialing a number. Suddenly someone walked closer to me, she fell on her knees. “Please don't kill us,” she pleaded, but before I could respond she zapped me with a teaser and I fell down…everything slowly went blank.

I regretted my choice instantly when I spotted some of the women drawing closer to him and swaying their hips harder, perhaps to get his attention. “He doesn’t have eyes for them, and they’ve all come with their mates anyway.” A voice called from behind me. It was a middle-aged woman with raven black hair and black eyes. Unlike every other person here, she was fully clothed, and that made me feel better, because I felt a bit overdressed in the blue silk gown I had on. “I wasn’t…” I began, about to lie, before thinking better of it. “Who are you?” “Cordellia is my name; I’m one of the pack healers, and I decided to take a small break from work since many pack members are here.”
