Can You Lend Me a Kiss?
He leaned closer and pressed a gentle kiss on her forehead. Then he pulled back and looked at her again.
“I love you, Natasha. I always have. Even when it looked like I didn’t care, even when I was far away, my heart was still with you, every second, every passing day.”
He wiped a tear from the corner of his eye and smiled a little, though it was a sad smile.
He stood slowly, still holding her hand for a few more seconds.
“I will fix this,” he said, more to himself now. “And when I do, I will bring you home and we will be happy again.”
