When Love Falls Into Sorrow
Beneath the cloak of night, he had kissed me under the towering Ferris wheel, vowing to take me on the Ferris wheel one day.
Fast forward to now.
My silence seemed to cast a shadow of disappointment in Charles's eyes.
Out of the blue, he yanked me close, settling me onto his lap, and dipped his head to steal a kiss.
I dodged, turning my face away.
Undeterred, he caught my chin, effortlessly pinning my struggling hands, and placed a kiss so gently.
The kiss seemed to stretch on endlessly.
Then, without thinking, I kissed him back.
He froze, staring at me with wide eyes that shimmered with wild joy.
