None of us had seen a new life come to life before. I smiled and looked at the egg as golden cracks appeared on its shell. Golden crepuscular rays burst out of the egg and all of us held our breaths. We squinted as the blinding light burst out of the egg. The egg moved in my palm. I cupped it with my hand to prevent it from falling. A tiny little chirp came from the egg. The light settled as we gaped at the egg. The cracked part of the egg flew at an invisible speed and crashed against Zephyr’s forehead.

"I've got this, Nana. How hard can it be?" Famous last words. She shook her head and walked back, hovering in the doorway. She watched while I cracked eggs into the pan that was way too hot now, the butter sizzling and turning brown almost immediately. The eggs started to cook the moment they hit the pan or more accurately, they started to burn. I scrambled them frantically but they turned into a rubbery, half-burnt mess.

“Get out, get out of my head! Get out of my head, right now!!” My screams weren’t working, rather her mocking laughter only increased in intensity as they now vibrated in my ears despite my screams. Only growing stronger and louder per second! So loud that it felt like her every laughter were getting engraved permanently on my skull if I did nothing about this! And so I did. Rushing out of the closest to the already open glass of wine not too far from me. The moment I got to it; the glass bottle went smashing on my head instantly! My hands wrapped tight around the edge, a proof of the action I had taken just now; smashing a glass of wine on myself.

Fuck, everything hurts so damn bad. I prop myself up on my elbows which was the wrong choice. I really should know better than to do this by now. I stay like that for a few minutes because my head is threatening to explode. I slowly sit up leaning against the headboard. I closed my eyes trying calm this damn headache down. I heard the door to the room open, which sounded like the damn thing was falling off its hinges. I let out a hiss making someone chuckle. I wonder if I would get in trouble for killing someone for entering my room when my head is on the verge of exploding.

I mumbled, trying to convince myself this was fine. The second egg somehow exploded more violently than the first, leaving streaks of yolk across the counter and a sad, gooey mess that vaguely resembled modern art. A tiny hiss of pain escaped my lips the moment a piece of sizzling egg popped from the pan and landed on my wrist. "Ow—damn it!" I hissed, shaking my hand like that’d magically make the sting go away. Of course, it didn’t. And that’s when I heard it, a soft, amused chuckle behind me.

However, he directly crushed the egg the next second. The broken egg and shell all went into the pan. "Pfft!" Anne laughed. Anthony cast a warning glance at her, and she finally stopped. I just gently touched it, almost like stroking.” The two stared at each other in dismay for a while. Presently, the cracks on the eggshell grew, and soon, the entire thing was covered with cracks.
