Admiration tugged at her heart, but she quickly pushed it aside when a young man made his way over to her. It was none other than Steven, King Greg’s cousin. Tall with wavy black hair and smouldering blue eyes, he had a smile that was both charming and menacing. “Why hello there,” he said huskily as he reached out for Lyra’s hand. “Hey there,” Steven said, his voice smooth. “I’m Steven. You must be Lyra.” Lyra nodded and smiled politely. “Yes, that’s me. Nice to meet you.” Steven’s eyes swept over her, and he smirked. “So, you’re the new wolf in the pack. Interesting.”

“Dumb bastard! Why is a mere Islander trying to show off in my country?” “I’ll beat him to death!” Steven was clearly agitated. Before, he only preyed on the weak before. But after going through a few drinks, he gained quite a bit of courage. If it were any other day, it would be odd if he didn’t kneel in front of them in an instant. Harvey narrowed his eyes at Steven. It seemed that this man had some redeemable qualities after all.

If it was, it had worked spectacularly, because the two had an awkward little hug, something that they never did, and then Luke was gone again. It took Steven a minute to think it through, to wrap his head around it just being said and done. If Steven didn't know any better, he’d think that the universe was fucking with him. Either way, it didn't feel like it could go too much longer. Whatever was going to happen, Steven just wanted that ill feeling to leave him. He wasn't used to it, and he didn't like it at all.

When Steve arrived at the base, he went to his private most room. No one was allowed to enter that room except his best friend Stooper whom he had given access f that room. He wanted to clean himself so that he could avoid any suspicious that he had left the pack to meet a human. When he pushed the door open, he saw his closest friend Stooper sitting on the couch as if he was waiting for him. Stooper had the same nature as Steve but not he was not as powerful as him.

He asked as he sat back, waiting for me to answer him. I took a seat in front of the desk. "Well, I have a business proposition for you, but I don't do anything with people I don't know." "Really?" He eyed me for quite a long time before he spoke again. "The name is Steven... Steven Black and as of a week ago I took charge in the absence of the Rogue King." He smirked as he leaned forward on his desk. "Now that you know who I am, who are you, and what do you want?"

But I left. Fast. And the moment the door shut behind me, the façade cracked. My breaths came shallow, and my fingers trembled. Stronger than me. Stronger than any wolf I had ever touched.
