Cregan Stark is, hands down, my favorite Stark we never got enough time with. He's the Lord of Winterfell during the Dance of the Dragons, and honestly, he feels like a character straight out of an Old Nan story – all ancient Northern honor and grim, unyielding duty. He shows up late to the civil war, but when he does, it's with a massive army of Northmen, the 'Winter Wolves.' He wasn't fighting for a Targaryen claimant out of love or ambition; he was there because a Stark oath had been sworn to Rhaenyra's cause, and a Stark keeps his word, even if the person he swore it to is already dead. That's the core of him.

His role is this fascinating blend of judge, executioner, and political reset button. After the war, he becomes Hand of the King for a single day – 'the Hour of the Wolf' – to clean up the mess. He executes traitors, restores order, and then just... leaves. He doesn't want power in King's Landing; his duty is to the North. He's like a force of nature, a blizzard that sweeps in, enforces a brutal, icy justice, and then recedes, leaving a clearer but colder landscape behind. He's the embodiment of 'Winter is Coming' as a moral principle, not just a weather report.
