I turn my eyes back to Lucian, accusing. "My heart beats dangerously fast. My breathing is jerky. What was that strange gleam in his eyes...? A low hum came from her throat before she spoke again. “Innocence. You have taken it.” Her face turned into a satisfied smile before her body straightened. Her eyes grew wide and her lips began to move rapidly, like someone had changed the speed, making her mouth not match up with the words the voices were saying. “Crimson approaches and the redeemer is near. A union of great for all to hear. Crimson approaches , yet again. A guardian will meet their end. Only then can the ash rise. When blood spills, the omnipotent cry will be touched by all. Only then can the emerald truly see.”

“No.” “You misunderstand, Natalie. Only a Crimson blood can give rise to a Crimson Wolf. If these rogues are truly Crimsons, then their existence suggests one disturbing possibility.” I frowned. “What possibility?” “The only crimson wolves that currently exist is the Alpha of the FireHeart pack, who is missing and even presumed dead. That should be the end of the crimson bloodline for there is no more birthing of such powerful creatures. It’s understandable if the FireHeart pack could be the culprit. Taking a step closer to him. “You will pay for those crimes now. I see no point in keeping you alive any longer.” My claws slip out of my nail beds and I plunge them into Samson’s chest as Crystal’s screams fill the air. Sampson is wide eyed and coughing up blood. Crimson took a deep breath, wiped her palms on her skirt and entered the clearing. As soon as she stepped out of the Labyrinth, and into the moonlight, the forest went completely quiet; not an owl, not a cricket. She shivered with the power of the place. Crimson made a conscious effort to breath as she peered into the trees hoping to get a bit of a warning as to the Dragon's approach. She heard a rustling of leaves off to the right.
