CRIMSON “Do you know the story of the bloody werewolf rogue that was killed by his alpha? Do you know about that rogue that was hated by all of his pack and all the other packs that no one wanted him at all? Are you familiar with the story, child?” an old woman asked me while giving me a serene smile on her lips.

Ciel continued. “If they stand behind you, protect them. If they stand beside you, respect them, and if they stand against you, defeat them." Jarvis proceeded. Kaizen slowly approached her; he hooked a hand under her chin and lifted her face to look him in the eyes. Brown met Crimson. “Always remember this, Roxanne.” “What?” She whispered. “A queen will always turn pain into power.”

’’ ‘’So what you’re saying in earnest is that the entire vampire kingdom is scared of some vampires because they’re smart? ‘’ What I’m saying is that these vampires are good at mind games – like I mean, it’s their own special ability. They can control people’s minds. It starts gradually but before you know it, you’re practically obeying their every command, only you don’t know it’s their command.’’ I could see how this was a scary thing….. if they were against the crown… ‘’ Some hundred years before I was born, your father gathered them all and executed them – well, not all. They corrupted our king on the day they were supposed to sign a peace treaty. They did something to him that forced his dragon to the surface in a blind rage, instantly voiding the treaty between kingdoms, and therefore restarting the war that we were trying to end. King Lucien only succeeded their late father Dimitri who was former king of Crimson Palace. I thought deeply until we came to the front of the Crimson Palace Kingdom. Ahead of us is its very high gate painted by black. Gradually you opened to make a loud noise, I slowly ran the car inward. We were greeted by towering woods on either side of the rough path. At the very end is the palace where King Lucien is. As I said before, Crimson Palace Kingdom and the rest of the vampire kingdoms from other provinces are like a town that consists of houses and establishments. There are markets, schools, extensive gardens, and more you can find in a town. It is big, at the end of it is the palace.

The brand glows red in the fire, waiting. Tears already burning my eyes. He walks around the bed slow. His eyes never leave me. “Tonight you stop being Volkov,” he says. His voice is calm and cruel. “Tonight you wear my name on your skin forever. Inside your thigh. Where only I will see. Where only I will touch.” I shake my head hard. “No. Please. No.” My voice cracks. As my tears fall hot. He pulls the iron from the fire. The wolf crest glows bright red. He kneels between my open legs. The heat reaches my skin before the metal does. He brings it close, I smell hot iron so I scream before it touches.

As for King Stefan, it seemed that he was shocked to see that there was a warrior who had a very intimidating aura even to him. "You'd better let her go, King Stefan," the Crimson Warrior spoke to King Stefan. King Stefan bared his fangs as he readied himself to attack. To everyone's shock, the Crimson Warrior then howled loudly. That howl even managed to make me kneel because of how intimidating that was. As an Alpha wolf, this howl was very strong. Was it because I was still a new Alpha that his howl intimidated me? 'Who is actually the Crimson Warrior? Why does he have such a threatening aura?' I thought to myself.

I pick it up and run my fingers over the hard moon sigil pressed on the cover. “Interesting...” I mutter, opening to the first page. It simply lists: Goddess, Lycans, Witches, Bloodlines, and Hybrids. My pulse quickens. I flip through the pages, ignoring the ones that have been torn out clean. The writing is cramped and old-fashioned, talking about cursed beings. “The Crimson-born are not of the pack, nor of the coven. They are independent and choose where they wish to go. Forged in the silence between the first howl, the Goddess’s tears, and the first spell. With their pale skin comes eyes deeper than the stain of blood.”

I turned to look at Leon who only held pity in his eyes for me. "Who is Crimson?" I asked calmly trying my possible best to control my anger. "Lady Crimson is the crown princess of this realm," Leon answered as if he was trained to say that. "That is not what I mean, I mean who is Crimson to Aethelfrith?" I shouted. "With all due respect, Tryamon please do not raise your voice at me or allow your actions to disrespect me in anyway, I am not Aethelfrith your lover but Leon his brother," Leon warned, his expression turned serious.

The fabric shimmered with hues of deep crimson and silver, a nod to the united packs they now ruled over as one. An artist worked meticulously, his brush capturing every detail of the royal pair as they posed for their first King’s Book portrait. This one would mark the beginning of their reign, a symbol of the new era that had dawned with the merging of Malakai and Amani’s packs into the Kingdom of Bloodmoon.
