Prologue

Long ago, king Bartholomew married to Queen Elisabela Had an extra marital affair with a human lady, Ambrosia with whom he fell in love with on his quest to bring peace into the vampire realm.

Everybody royal especially his wife, Queen Elisabela had refused the king's union with this human lady but the king went ahead to marry Ambrosia.

"My lord, your second wife, Lady Ambrosia has fallen into labor." The head maid informed the King.

He waved her off with his hands, she walked out of the room.

"Elisabela better births a male child," said the queen mother, the moment she walked into the room.

"Mother, am scared for Ambrosia, she is only human." King Bartholomew voiced his concern to his mother, his heart full of concern for his human mistress.

The midwife walks into the King's room

"My Lord, Queen Elisabela has birthed a female child." the midwife bowed her head to the king and queen mother after delivering the news.

"How about Lady Ambrosia," the king asked the midwife.

"My Lord, our Lady is very weak at the moment, we just hope for a successful delivery," the midwife told the king, she walks out of the room.

"Mother are you okay," the King asked his mother when he saw her fainting, more like pretending to faint.

"She birthed a female child, then who will give us a male child," the Queen mother said dramatically

"Mother, we still have Ambrosia, and" the king was cut short by his mother

"How dare you, speak her name.

No child of a human will rule this realm." The queen mother spat bitterly and angrily.

"Sabina Sabina" the queen mother called for the headmaid.

"Yes, queen mother" Sabina bowed her head

"Give out gift to everyone and tell them the queen has birthed a child" the queen mother instructed.

Days passed by, the King still awaiting the news about his lady, the kingdom was rejoicing in the birth of the princess but still awaits the birth of Lady Ambrosia's child.

Some hope Lady Ambrosia's child would be a male child, some hope it will be female, cause they do not want a human heir.

After days of awaiting the birth of Lady Ambrosia's child, the news finally arrived that she has birthed a male child.

The midwife walked into the King's chamber to give him the good news.

"My Lord, Lady Ambrosia has finally birthed your child" the midwife informed King Bartholomew.

"What has she birthed and how is she fairing." The king asked the midwife.

"My Lord, my lady has birthed a male child"

The midwife paused and took in a deep breath before continuing what she was saying

"My lady isn't doing too well, she grows weaker as the day pass, we fear she might not make it." The midwife informed the king.

"Announce the birth of the child and inform everyone that there shall be a feast to celebrate the birth of the prince and princess." The king told the midwife.

"What about Queen Elisabela and Lady Ambrosia," the midwife asked.

"Inform them I shall come to see them in their Chambers before today's feast." The king replied to the midwife's question.

The birth of the prince was announced, some rejoiced while some lamented about having a weak half-blooded vampire prince in the realm.

Just as the king has promised, A feast was held to celebrate the birth of his children. His queen and mistress were also in attendance at this event. The king clicked his glass calling the attention of everyone.

"Good evening everyone, my entire household thank you for attending this wonderful gathering with us, I will also love to show you all your Future heir and give them their names."

The king summoned for the two babies to be brought outside before his people.

"My daughter shall be my pride and my most priceless jewel born from the queen, Queen Elisabela, I shall name her Zella, My firstborn child, Princess Zella." The king raised his daughter while his subject rejoiced.

The king gave Princess Zella to her nanny and took his son to present to the crowd.

"My son, my heir, and my pride, my second-born child but my first son born from Lady Ambrosia, I shall name you Aethelfrith, Prince Aethelfrith." The king announced, some rejoiced while some were unhappy seeing the king had named this half blood his heir.

Everybody was busy rejoicing, When the king turned to see his lady bleeding heavily on the floor.

"Ambrosia, Ambrosia" The king called out then rushed to his Lady bringing the attention of everyone to themselves.

"Call me the doctor, now!!" The king screamed, he carried lady Ambrosia to her room still awaiting the doctor.

"Doctor, check her, she is bleeding." The king asked the doctor immediately as he stepped into the room.

"My Lord, please you and everyone should step outside for a moment while I examine Lady Ambrosia." The doctor said politely.

"How can I step out, when my love is lying on that bed looking lifeless?" The king screamed at the doctor.

"Am sorry my Lord, I shall proceed" the doctor said as he proceeded to check lady Ambrosia.

The king was scared of the news that would come,he paced up and down the room anxiously.The queen had already sent the people home and thanked them for coming on behalf of the king.

"My Lord, I think it's time you say goodbye to lady Ambrosia." The doctor told the king as he bowed his head out of respect.

"What do you mean to say goodbye to lady Ambrosia? What's going on, I do not understand, can someone help me understand what the doctor has said." The king screamed,he moved closer to Lady Ambrosia's bed,he held her hand in his, looking into her eyes, both eyes filled with tears and pains.

"My lord" Lady Ambrosia coughed out blood,the king used his hankie to wipe the blood off her hands.

"Am sorry, my body is growing weaker by the day, I do not think I have much time left." Lady Ambrosia said, still in the king's arms.

"Ambrosia, don't say that please" the king pleaded.

"Promise you will always love and care for my son as your own Queen Elisabela." Lady Ambrosia reached her hand out for queen Elisabela to hold.

"My queen,I am sorry for entering your household and taking your husband but please help me raise my son right." Lady Ambrosia pleaded with queen Elisabela.

"I shall take care of your son." Queen Elisabela promised.

"And make him king when the time is right?" Lady Ambrosia asked queen Elisabela

"Do you promise?" Lady Ambrosia asked again. The king promised immediately while queen Elisabela pulled her hand away from Lady Ambrosia. The moment Queen Elisabela removed her hands from Lady Ambrosia's hands, she gave up the ghost.

"Am sorry my king." The queen bowed her head out of respect, everyone followed suit making the king realize his lady was no longer in the world of the living. The king screamed out his lungs.

The funeral of Lady Ambrosia was held, the realm has lost a great soul, the king seems to have changed after the death of his human mistress from being a kind king to a ruthless king.

Three years later, The king and his most trusted council realizing the young prince Aethelfrith was also human and not strong enough to rule the realm decided to betrothe him to his brother's child, A very strong full blooded female vampire named Crimson.

The king sent his son, prince Aethelfrith to another place to live and be trained into a capable king.
