Crimson, still moving at superspeed, had then descended upon one creature that turned out to have been devouring the insides of one of the warehouse men. He struck it twice from the back then added one powerful blow that sent a bolt of lightning ripping apart the creature. Kristina was then on his side. The creatures were still quite a handful, their ferocious figures darkened in the night. “There’s too many of them!” Crimson said. “Yeah, no shit!” Kristina snapped back, twisting her dagger in her hand. Crimson was then thinking about getting both of them out of there when the sky boomed followed by a bright luminescence that turned out to be some kind of large mass of energy just a few feet

The silence that followed the collapse of the Salt Spire was thick, heavy, and tasted of iron. I lay in the freezing grey slush of the shore, my lungs burning as they pulled in air that no longer felt like ice, but like liquid heat. Above us, the bruised grey of the Sisters' sky was being torn apart. It wasn't the golden dawn of the Hallowed, nor was it the violet twilight of the Eclipse. The horizon was a deep, bleeding crimson, a color so visceral it looked as if the atmosphere itself had been flayed open.
