A Child of Another Story
She was in a faded cotton dress, her face makeup-free, hair simply pulled back.
The once radiant girl then looked as wilted as a flower after a storm.
Next to her was a middle-aged guy with a beer gut, his hand casually, and far too comfortably, draped over her waist.
Sheila caught my eye, her body tensing up. She tried to shrug the guy off, but he just pulled her in closer.
"What caught your eye?"
The guy looked over, and when he spotted Christina by my side, his eyes lit up with a mix of surprise and desire.
