The deep oak banister was polished to a shine, the end of it carved into an intricate bear's head. Saffron followed the unfriendly woman up the twisting staircase and stared up at the large, silken banners that hung from the ceiling. On them, they bore the Arkadios crest: a large brown bear standing atop a hill, a coronet rests upon its head and a heraldic rose is crossed with a sword underneath it. Saffron found it garish and uncomfortable. She averted her eyes and was surprised to see that they have already left the steps and instead have started down the left hallway.

"Ah! It's you Mtungagore my good friend? What brings you here? You are so far from home. Whatever it is, must be of extreme importance. For you barely leave Azania even if it's to save your life." Mtungagore smiles and gets straight to the point. "Poseidon, which deity did you piss off? Do you know there is a bear claiming to be you?" "Impossible! Where is that bear?" "He is currently helping the wolves in the Luminous Pack grounds." "Very well my friend. Hermes has crossed the line. I will deal with him accordingly."

Asmoday is seen often, but the sightings are so random we can't predict when he will pop up. “Does anyone have any idea who the other two are that are working for or with the bears?” I ask. “No one has seen anyone and from what Chris told me none of the wolves picked up any foreign scents the days leading up to the fire. They pack knew the bears where htere but they never crossed the border. Whoever those other two are can conceal their scents.” Ares answers.

If it wasn’t for Carrie who pulled her to her feet, she would have been crushed under the hissing and roaring battle between the vampire and the bear. "Run you two." The bear said. The vampire used his moment of distraction to run full force into the bear, hitting him to the ground. The vampire then ran towards Hayley and Carrie, but by that time, they have already crossed back to their territory. "He's not chasing us." Hayley said. “That’s because he can’t cross the border." Carrie said. "Go you two!" The bear yelled, before rearing up on its hind legs then sunk his teeth into the vampire, who gave a cry.

The sweet-spicy scent of an omega blooming into heat tickled my nose, and I paused mid-punch. Fuck. There weren’t many omegas, and the alpha wolf in me craved this one already.
