The Hybrid's Hope
Qadira pushes forward as we hear the sound of a large animal sniffing around outside.
I lift my nose in the air.
‘Qadira?’
‘Bear,’ she growls softly. ‘Headed this way.’
“Bear,” I whisper to Levi.
“Polar bear?” he asks.
I sniff some more, catching the salty scent of the ocean.
“Yes,” I say quietly, turning on my back so I can look outside.
"Shifter?” he asks.
“No.”
I’m hoping since we’re in a truck, that even if the bear finds us, it will pass us by. However, a few moments later, I see the moonlight glinting off its white fur and watch as it heads straight for the truck.
