It was a stick figure with massive shocked eyes. Lucian choked on a laugh. I couldn’t help it either. Even Adrian stopped walking, shoulders tensing, like he could feel the laughter hitting him from behind. He turned halfway toward us, eyes narrowing. “What are you laughing at?” Arian held up the drawing proudly. Adrian stared. Cassian fell sideways out of his chair. Lucian wheezed. Arianna patted Arian’s head. “Excellent work.” Adrian took a slow, deep breath — the kind that meant he was mentally counting to ten thousand.

“I missed you too, sweetheart,” He kissed her on the forehead, the familiar warmth of her skin almost undoing him completely. Tessa grabbed his hand, tugging at it with excitement. “Come look! I made something.” Kris let her pull him across the room, each step feeling like a lead weight. She led him to the floor where a pencil drawing lay on a sheet of paper. Kris sat down beside her, feeling numb as he looked at the drawing. It was simple—just three stick people. A man, a woman, and a little girl in between them holding both of their hands.

I noticed an evil grin appear on his face before he added devil horns to it. "I can actually draw" he bragged confidently. "Oh yeah?" I raised my eyebrows at him. "Yeah" he smirked as I stepped closer to him; He put his hands on my waist and pulled me in. He kissed me, smiling into it. "What's got you in a good mood?" I questioned him, beaming. "I don't know, maybe for the first time I can see a bit of sunshine through the thick black clouds" he muttered, his smile slowly fading as he talked while staring at me.

When she handed Felix the drawing, he took it with his free hand and carefully unfolded it. At the bottom of the drawing, the twins had signed their name with shaky writing – ‘Love, Aaron & Lily’. The work was more cubism than realism, with its clashing colors and distorted symmetry but it was undoubtedly the nicest thing that anyone had given him in a while. As he sat on the ground with a drawing from two ten year olds in one hand and Cassie’s dainty hand in the other, he felt at peace.

Daisy’s radiant happiness seemed to wash over him, and a smile played on his lips. The next image showed a grumpy Liam, his tiny face contorted in a frown, arms crossed, and a pout on his lips.

Come back soon.” Before I could reply, he turned to Xeros and handed him something– more like, pushed something into his hand. Before we could ask anything, he darted away. Xeros carefully unfolded the paper, and I found myself peeking over his arm in curiosity. But never could have prepared me for what I found: it was a drawing , with me, Xeros and Adam. Adam had drawn himself smiling in the center, clutching both our hands as we ran through the rain and storms together.

Such a childish and girly tantrum. I covered my face. This was truly embarrassing. It was a good thing that I am the only person seeing this. While the shorter stick has twig tails and a small smile.

It was a drawing of me. "Who drew this?" I awed. It's a picture of me standing and looking to my right. The outfit in the drawing was the same exact outfit on the day Cayden and I went to the zoo. My hair was drenched, but I look happy. I saw a smile on my face that I've never seen, the mirror before. I didn't even know that it was possible for me to ever smile that way.
