Slowly, I placed my right hand on his shoulder and at that very moment, his shoulders started shaking rapidly. I quickly withdrew my hand back while my other hand was clamped over my mouth. My heart dropped at the realization that he was crying. His ears and neck had turned bright red as my own tears started rolling down my cheeks. Hesitantly, I placed my hand on his shoulder again. My knees were buckling as I barely managed to breathe. My eyesight turned obscure as I sniffed.

Elise screamed and passed out, her body hitting the floor in a dull thud. "Oh my goodness..." Inez gasped. Karen cried quietly. "It hurts...." Inez rose to her feet and helped Karen get to her feet. "Take the day off. You should rest." Karen didn't stop crying. She wanted to hug Inez and be hugged back. It started with crying about her shoulder, then it turned into crying about her hurt and everything else. Inez held her awkwardly as she cried. "You'll be okay..." Inez kept saying.

The joint there popped. Pain exploded from my shoulder down to my fingertips. I gasped, my knees buckling, and for a second I thought I was going to fall. He didn't let me fall. He just kept pulling. I gritted my teeth. I didn't cry. I hadn't cried in front of him in years. Crying was a weakness and Marcus collected weaknesses like trophies. So I didn't cry. I just walked. Stumbled and walked and kept stumbling and yet kept up because falling would be worse.

Her house, their argument, his forcing himself on her, her running away from him, his catching her and her fainting with a pain on her shoulder in his arms. She started shaking as agony filled sobs escaped her dry throat, she gripped the bedsheet tightly in her fists groaning in pain as she tried to get up but she fell back onto the bed when she felt an unbearable pain in her shoulder. Her eyes and face turned red due to continues crying as her sobs turned into low hiccups but her eyes widened with horror as the bathroom door opened, revealing her living nightmare whose blank face turned into worry and concern as his eyes fell on her terrifying form.

One of his eyebrows shot up. “You don't!” I shouted, tears burning in my eyes. I allowed them to flow freely as I couldn't hold them back. I was such a crybaby. I could only express myself by crying, and that itself was annoying. I knew it irritated Jason because anytime he saw me crying, his nose would often wrinkle and his lips twist in disgust; he was doing the same now. I tried to force myself to stop, but I couldn't.

My shoulders shook with sobs as I broke down in front of him. Without hesitation, Nicholas stepped forward and wrapped his arms around me. I didn’t flinch or pull away; instead, I melted into his embrace, allowing myself to cry. I cried for my grandmother, for the fear of losing her, for the anger that surged within me—anger at myself, at the world, at how unfair everything felt.

His other hand reached for my shoulder and I felt its fingers gently and rhythmically rub against it in an attempt to calm the tremors. His arms encircled me and pressed me firmly against his firm chest as he effortlessly drew me into him. With my face buried in his shoulder I soaked his pricey shirt in tears as my body trembled from the intensity of my anguish. Something deep and primordial within me gave in as his scent—the comforting familiar smell of him—mixed with the bitter tang of my tears. I sobbed into his shoulder clinging to him like a lifeline heartbroken and completely lost. He was hurt. A raw nearly powerless concern was radiating from him and I could feel it.

A strangled sound tore from his chest. And blood started pouring from his shoulder.

He murmured softly, his voice surprisingly coming out tender and heartfelt. She kept crying, her shoulders shaking terribly. He gritted his teeth again before releasing one of her palms; making him hold both hands in his right hand; and wrapping his left around her shoulder. He felt her and himself stiffen and then he felt both of them relax. She looked up at him again and he felt the slightest ounce of pity as he stared back into her red rimmed eyes. "I'm here" he said, "For this moment, let me be your friend and your shoulder to cry on."

I wasn't sure why or how I was bleeding but I would try to piece it together when I was out of this mess. Sitting up straight, I began to edge my bound hands down my back. Then, I bent forward and began wriggling so my hands could slide down my ass but the action was harder to do than I imagined. Tears pricked my eyes and eventually spilled at the gut-churning pain when my muscles stretched and the wound in my shoulder became aggravated—a shoulder I truly thought was about to dislocate. I didn't give up though. I fought through the pain and struggled until my hands finally slid down my ass.
