CASSANDRA’S POV I couldn’t feel my face. Actually, I couldn’t feel anything except humiliation pulsing through my blood like a fever. Alastair’s growl grew louder, his wolf bristling with anger at the disrespect. He was a fierce and formidable creature, not one to be trifled with. “I’ll show you what the cat dragged in, you stinking punks,” Alastair snarled, launching himself at the vampires before they had a chance to react. In an instant, he was engaged in a fierce battle, fighting them off with all his might.
