Atrocious sighed heavily, picked up the orb, and muttered a spell. The orb became surrounded by a mist of emerald color, and an obscure figure appeared within it. "It's a curse. Your brother, the Alpha King, is cursed."

Kenny sat down, crossed his legs, and lit a big cigar. “My gift to you is number one, a beating you will remember for the rest of your life or number two, a more merciful option, you grovel at my feet begging me for mercy while you refer to me as your lord,” uttered Kenny as he blew the smoke from his cigar at Luke’s face. That cursed witch?! Why would she-” “It’s no use getting angry now.” I tell him. His brows tilt in a frown and I huff a dry laugh, turning to the statue. “Someone removed it.”

My heart raced, but I didn’t pull away. “You’re cursed,” I whispered. “But you don’t feel like a curse to me.” “That’s because you don’t know what I’m capable of when the curse takes hold,” he said, voice rough. “It’s not just immortality, Aria. It’s hunger. Darkness. Rage that never dies. If I let you close, you won’t survive me.” “Maybe you’re wrong,” I said before I could stop myself. My voice came out steadier than I felt. “Maybe I’m the one who can survive you.”

I watched him as he moved frantically, tearing the cover off as he poured the drink down his throat straight from the bottle. “You don’t fucking understand” “Then make me!” I yelled back, my rage matching his. “Make me understand what drives you to be so fucking selfish that you want to keep two mates.
