Big and dangerous that will no doubt have grave consequences for us all. Especially the one who has hired us all to this Facility. He is mad with a desire for eternal life. He has mages visit us sometimes to do different experiments on the Subject. What they do to him is beyond me. It sometimes appears back in its room with strange black markings on its body. After a few days though; the markings just disappear. This place fills me with dread, and I don’t know how much longer I can continue to work for these kinds of people. The work here greatly tests one’s faith in God.

Why are you here? Shouldn't you be reading some other story instead? I mean, who wants to hear about some cursed woman that is responsible for the death of her entire pack? Women, children, warriors. I'm at the supermarket when an old woman I don't know suddenly grips my hand tightly. I instinctively shield my baby bump, but she says, "Someone has placed a swap spell on you. The dead baby is about to be transferred to your body soon." I think she's a liar, but she says, "Hurry up and try to make yourself vomit. You should try to throw up as much of that fish you just ate as you can."

A freak accident that left me completely alone in the world. But now, I couldn’t help but wonder. Were they werewolves too? Had they known this would happen to me? Alaric said the curse didn’t activate unless you killed someone. If they were werewolves, had they never triggered the curse? Or was it something else entirely? Please.” His head dropped forward, his voice rough, broken. “It’s the curse.” The words sliced through me. He had told me once, in fragments, about it—the curse that bound his bloodline. The reason his love was a death sentence. Never to love without dying. I hadn’t understood then. I hadn’t wanted to. But now— “You’re saying…” My voice faltered. “Because you—because you love…”

Fresh tears blurred the words. “Do not tell him the truth.” “He will never believe you.” “The curse began three hundred years ago.” “Every man who truly loves a woman born with our blood…” ”…will slowly surrender his life.” ⸻ A tear landed on the page. The ink blurred slightly. ⸻ “The first kiss marks him.” “The second weakens him.” “The third binds his soul.” “After the seventh…” The sentence ended abruptly. The rest of the page had been burned away. ⸻
