’ Sure enough, towards the lower half of the shelf, my name stood out in vibrant lettering. Without thinking, I reached out and snatched the book from the shelf. I reminded myself to be quiet as I gawked at the cover of my own book. The entire thing was scarlet in color. It was this vibrant, flaming shade amongst a shelf full of dark colored books. The thread that spelled out my name was a shimmering gold. The phoenix tattoo that now sat across my back seemed to tingle, as though these two things were connected in a way.

books that weren't about architecture or history, but about the world they had run away from. He pulled a heavy, leather-bound volume book from the bottom shelf. The cover was dusty, the pages yellowed from how old the book seemed. He flipped through it frantically, his heart hammering against his ribs, until he found what he was looking for. He slammed the book down on the table, pointing to a hand-drawn illustration. It was the broken wing. "Look," Theo whispered. "Tell me that's a random tattoo." Mia looked down, her face going pale as she read the inscription beneath the drawing. Her voice was a mere breath. "Hunters of the Silver Moon."

I smiled, though my body trembled slightly with unease. He smirked, his eyes darkening as he sauntered towards me. Slowly, he reached out, invading my space. My gaze drifted to his chest, where intricate tattoos sprawled across his skin, half of his left chest completely inked. There was a large python coiled menacingly, its fangs bared as if ready to strike. Surrounding it were other symbols—a bleeding dagger, an intricate skull wrapped in thorns, and a blood moon rising behind them all. The ink seemed almost alive, dark and haunting, like it held secrets too dangerous to reveal. I had seen something like this before. At least he had a shirt on that day. Then something caught my eye. On his left pec, near his heart, there was now a tattoo. Unconsciously I stepped forward so I could get a closer, better look at the newly designed tattoo. It was the name 'Baby B' in cursive italics. Under the name were two red roses in the form of an 'x'. My fingers were itching to touch the newly done tattoo but I knew better.

She was upset that I didn't recognize her, and seemed deeply upset when I pushed her arms away and stared at her. Despite the simple black dress, the neckline was deep enough for the tattoo of his capital sin to be quite significant and easy to decipher. In the center of the small trunk was the image of a fat badger with his mouth wide open, where a small man fell into it. Around the animal, crosses, tombstones and flames spiralled over the woman's pale skin. The rest of the drawing was not noticeable enough for me to lose more than a few seconds staring, so I looked away when she also looked.

“I have a surprise for you and it’s hiding under the panties.” Creighton’s eyes lit up as he reached for the elastic band, raising an eyebrow at her. Sandra’s blush deepened as she nodded, and he slowly pulled them off her body. His hands froze, looking at the hidden message, smiling at her brightly. Chang moved in to snap a few additional photos, while Creighton stared, speechlessly at her hairless body. In dark sapphire blue ink, just above the slit of her labia, CWA was tattooed across her pubic area, a pair of handcuffs connected the first and last letters. Creighton looked into her face with awe…she had branded herself as his, forever.

I turned to find Rico staring at me again. “Rico, out with it!” I snapped. “What?” he asked. I narrowed my eyes at him. “You’ve been staring at me weirdly for the past two hours.” “I’m just curious about your piercings and tattoos,” he chuckled. I have a piercing on my lip, eyebrow, bellybutton and nose. I normally just put on diamond studs. Today I also put on my tongue piercing. I have six tattoos. I have butterflies on my ankle and stomach, stars on my wrist and neck, a dagger on my arm, and a wolf going down my whole back. The wolf is my mate mark surprisingly since Silas got the same one two days after we mated. They just appeared out of nowhere.

The words Lyon's Angel in cursive were written over my head, and it was amazing. "Damn, sis, this is great, it's exactly what I had in mind." I looked on in awe. I'd never seen anything like it, except maybe for Colton's tattoos. His art was all fire and tribal symbols, all manly and hot. But this looked very feminine and classy to me, and I couldn't wait to get started. "I have plans for other parts of your body, but that can wait, this is for your back. What do you think?"
