The Vortex was a violent whirl of wormhole made of silverstream where a VEIL supposed to come out, but instead a spacecraft came out of it. Tirana couldn't keep her jaw from being closed. The silver, alien spacecraft was a carrier for the unidentified ores. The mountains of it were added more and the Sovereigns people obediently took them by their loading trucks, ready to process. What they took didn't even made a dent on the towering piles of the alien ores.

After watching the battle, the powerhouses that came for the Chaotic Treasure also gave up. James’ combat strength was terrifying. It would be tough for them to snatch the Chaotic Treasure with James protecting it. James looked at the shattered space around him. Numerous planets had been destroyed during the fight, and many living beings died tragically. James murmured, “These people were innocent. The fight over the Chaotic Treasure had brought disaster upon them.” Immediately afterward, he summoned a few mysterious inscriptions that kept transforming. As they rapidly changed, the destroyed planets began to restore.

There they watched a moving chain of winged lobsters cross a great transatlantic aqueduct spilling roses into a desert with an avocado sun made of five glowing jewels in its skin and a clock which raced madly backward from inside an opened tin can. “That was as bizarre as Alice Through the Looking Glass,” Evelyn mumbled to herself as they emerged from the exhibit, but it served its purpose. Afterwards, visitors to the demonstration were treated to various snack-sized samples of the foods they’d seen, in just big enough portions to take the edge off their hunger.

With any luck we'd soon be in port somewhere and handing Kryan over while we picked up our reward. The first thing I did was choose a destination based on the closest planet and ease to get to. We were so close to the first of the planets in the cluster on the other side of the space bridge that it made surprising sense for us to take Kryan deeper into the fringe area instead of back the way we'd come. It wouldn't allow us to pick up the necklace we'd tried to return and get a reward for, but Kryan had possessed a lot more cargo than we'd been expecting. There was a good chance the rest of the credits we needed was in there.
