Dahlia blinked, finally noticing his presence. Her gaze slid to him briefly before drifting back to the screen. “Oh. You’re home early. But why would you turn off the T.V?” She complained, standing and grabbing the remote from him.

Dahlia laughed and I was happy I was able to make her do so after she just finished crying. “What does he have on you?” She sucked on her teeth, every kind of humor leaving her as she said, “He has a video.” I arched an eyebrow. A video? There was only one kind of video he could have that could serve as blackmail material, especially on Dahlia who was one of the kindest people on earth. “What kind of video does he have, Dahlia?” The question came out slow and deliberate. I already knew the answer to it but I wanted to hear it from her.

Aside from the obvious, why did they wanted to distract her from working on the case for a while? What had they hoped to achieve? "Lexi told me Dahlia had gotten a little too interested in the case while I'd been away," She said carefully, watching me closely for a reaction. Until Li-lah dropped a bomb. "I saw this at the entrance." she said showing him the brown box she was holding. "It says 'Alexander Chávez of sabor estavez'. Who is it?" His eyes widened and he began to panic. Daniel closed the door and immediately turned and faced her. "Who did you say it was from?" "Why do you look so surprised?" Li-lah asked sarcastically. "I thought you'd want to know what's in the box. Let's open it together." she said but Daniel took the box swiftly away from her.
