THE CURSED ONE
Damian turned, following the sound through the hall and out into the dimly lit courtyard behind the main house.
There, under the cold was of moonlight he saw them, Keven, one of the lower guards and a red haired maid.
Kevens grip was brutal, his voice a drunken snarl. He yanked at her dress, the fabric tearing with an ugly sound, baring her front. Desa twisted, eyes burning with fury.
“Keven!” Damian barked, but the man didn’t hear him, lost in his frenzy.
He lunged at her. Only for Desa’s fist to flash upward, striking his jaw with a shocking precision. The crack echoed in the night.
