“What are you doing?” I asked, wiping my face with the back of my sleeve.
“My father mentioned my mother’s private clinic in Vermont,” Damon said, his breath hitching as he scrolled through his archived contacts. “When I was a kid, she had a secondary satellite number she used to call me from when she was away.”
