Ignite me (A collection of Short Stories)
I pull back fast, cheeks burning.
Jane keeps chatting about the day, grocery list, her client meeting at ten, but I’m only half listening, stealing glances at him every chance I get. He catches me once and his mouth twitches into that tiny private smile that’s just for me. My stomach flips and my resolve crumbles a little more. This secret is burning between us now, bright and dangerous. And as thrilling as it feels, the fear is gnawing. How long before it all explodes? Before Jane finds a clue, or smells something, or just knows?
