He listened to the song calmly as ever as he sighed and leaned over the frame of the window. He smiled at the numbness that he felt and looked over the outside of the mansion. He saw a familiar car and exhaled as he realized that it must have been for Marian. He just closed his eyes and feeling the warmth over the bedroom. The breeze upon the windows slapped through his face.

Phantom’s entrance was so sudden that even the shadows Damon controlled flickered for a moment, losing their form. “Couldn’t let you have all the fun without me,” Phantom said.

It seems the kid had learned some caution, at least. “Boss?” Danny’s voice was young, and uncertain. “You wanted to see me?” I turned slowly, letting him sweat for a moment. He was twenty, maybe twenty-one. Scrawny. And very nervous. This was the kid who’d let Rylan escape a week ago. “Come here,” I said. Danny approached like he was walking to the gallows. His hands were shaking. I let the silence stretch, watching him squirm. Then I smiled. “Good work.”

At the end of the corridor, an elderly man with silver hair strode toward us, leaning on a cane, his presence imposing.

No more,” he growled. “Fine,” Danny grunted on the other end. “Any updates from our ME?” he asked, pulling his car from the driveway, eyes trained on his rearview mirror. “Nope.” “Alright, get lost then and I hope your wife makes you sleep on the couch today.” He ended the call without waiting for further reply from the human. With a sigh, he eased the car into traffic. The roads were less crowded than usual and he welcomed it. He was in no mood to deal with other things than necessary.

He had white hair, snow pale skin and his lips were a sickish blue. “If you kill him…..” She didn’t complete that and Danny just spared her a glance. If she did kill him there was literally nothing she could do, but she considered herself batman. She couldn’t kill and there was no way she would be tried for murder along with treason. She opened the capsule and cut off all power. Danny placed a hand against his chest immediately and tried to concentrate. “You do know what you’re doing right?!” Ronnie snapped. “Of course I do. Now stop talking!!” she hissed and concentrated on the ice cold energy that was strongest in his chest area.

“I’m glad I got one.” “Good for you.” Danny smirks, leaning back in the tub, enjoying the warm water as it soothes his muscles. Tomorrow is going to be a long day. "See you in the afterlife, Mary. In hell, maybe." He lets out a quiet laugh, his lips curving into a smirk. But his eyes remain empty. Exhausted. "Loving someone is really hard."
