Dante caught the floor before it landed on his face and he looked at the servant. "I am dead." The servant muttered and his team members, Francesco and Diego, felt their lives left them the moment they saw Dante standing at the entrance. "Fire!" Madonna yelled as she stood up from behind the island to fire at her opponent. She threw the floor and it landed behind Diego, missing its target. Diego nor any of his team members reacted and Madonna followed their eyes and it landed on Dante. "Shit." She yelled and went back to hiding to avoid looking at Dante.

I jumped quickly when I noticed him and rushed to him. “What the hell happened? I’ve been worried sick!” I asked, running into his arms. He held me for several seconds, breathing me in before letting go of me. I peered up at him, torn between a screaming at him and making sure he was alright. “What happened? You look unhappy.” I asked him. Dante let out a tired sigh and ran his hand through his hair. “The factory.” He started. “Which factory ? And what happened to it?” “One of the chocolate factory caught fire today and was burnt to the ground.”

But she could still feel his fear. She turned to Dante next. He was standing by the window, staring out at the approaching army. "What about you?" she asked. Dante didn't turn around. "I'm not scared of losing control." "Then what are you scared of?" His hands clenched into fists. "Losing my fire." Laura moved closer. "Your fire?" "My passion. My anger. My drive." Dante's voice was quiet. "It's who I am." He finally turned to face her. His red eyes were full of worry.

Murdok screeched as Rori cried and spun in circles, helpless. The flames finally pushed the large scaled beast into flight and Rori watched as he flew straight toward the volcano, crying out loudly before landing at the edge of the mouth and looking toward her with its neck craned. Rori turned back to see Henry and her mother still screaming in flames and as their skin began to melt away she backed up until the boom of more screams caused her to spin around and as her hands shot out in front of her, the echo of Destiny and Andy’s desperate cries had Rori frantically trying to search through the flames and find her distressed house mates.//

The rusted iron girders began to buckle from the heat, the weight-sensors snapping their cables with sounds like whip-cracks as the thousands of illegal shanties three stories above us began to shake, their scrap-iron roofs rattling as the foundation of the lower tier started to give way. Dante was still standing, but his massive frame was hunched low, his great jaws dripping with a thick mixture of blood and black soot. It was a tragedy. It’s what brought the Morettis and the Vanes together in a permanent alliance. My father stood by yours at the funeral." "Is that what happened?" I leaned forward, the candlelight dancing in my eyes. "Or did the fire happen because the Morettis and the Vanes were already together? Did a young enforcer deliver a shipment of accelerants to a residential basement because a King wanted to be rid of his Queen?"

"I just spoke with one of the scouts. They found evidence near the eastern wall. Accelerant containers. The kind used to start fires that spread quickly." "What are you saying?" But I already knew. The horror of it was settling into my bones. "The explosions that saved us tonight," Vera said quietly. "The fires that drove the Council back. They were not set by our new allies. Chapter 1: Into the Inferno The roar of the flames was deafening, like the devil himself breathing down their necks. Dante Reyes kicked through another burning door, his heavy turnout gear already feeling like a furnace. At thirty five, he had seen hell more times than he could ever count, but this super fire fueled by climate dried forests and years of corporate greed was something else entirely. “Anyone here?!” he bellowed, voice muffled by his mask. "Can anyone hear me, he shouted."

You think my allies will let you walk free after this?” Dante’s expression didn’t waver. “I’m not afraid of your allies. One by one, I’ll take them all down.” --- A Desperate Move As the firefight raged on, one of Elias’s men managed to get close enough to toss a smoke grenade. Thick, choking smoke filled the alley, obscuring everyone’s vision. Elias used the distraction to slip from Dante’s grasp, retreating into the haze.
