DAPHNE’S POV “Daph!” my sister wrapped her hands around my neck and kissed my cheek. “I’ve missed you so much. Uni is terrible being apart from you.” My older sister had dyed her hair blond with highlights. She looked stunning with her freckles and tanned skin. Standing next to her, I looked even paler and duller in comparison to the goddess called my sister. Still, I was happy to see her. “Daisy,” I smiled just breathing in her scent. She’d arrived a little later than me but, all that mattered was, my family was together again.

Lux smiles and shakes it off as she takes a seat and says, “It’s fine. I’m sorry that it has been so lonely for you.” Daphne sighs and says, “It’s part of the hand we’ve been dealt. I’m grateful to have my true mate, but it is very hard not having my parents around and I was an only child so there’s no siblings or anything for me to be around it’s just… me.” Lux asks, “Alpha Blake, what about you? Do you have any family?” “I do, but they live further away and we don’t see them often.” We both nod and food suddenly gets set in front of us. Daphne says, “Sorry for bringing the mood down, please enjoy the food and tell us all about your travels or your life! I’d love to know everything.”

~DANE~ My screams echoed through the walls of my room as I clenched my fists tightly, drawing blood. Surprises abounded tonight. Not only did I discover that Daphne had survived and was now posing as Sapphire, but her survival threatened to ruin everything I had meticulously planned. How could she still be alive? They had brought me news of her death, prompting me to mate with Alexa quickly. Now, she was back in the arms of the War Alpha, the man I compete with. He had it all: money, fame, and power. It felt like she was rubbing it in my face, making me question why I had rejected her.

“I wouldn't know. I just picked them up for someone else." At this point,Aliyah, Jacob’s sister, exploded into curses. "Daphne, you shameless bitch! Didn't you love my brother? Now, you've moved in with Griffin, who's going to be Jacob’s brother-in-law. Are you trying to take revenge on our family?" Revenge? Daphne rolled her eyes. "So you two knew how impossibly difficult Jacob made my life and you didn’t tell him to leave me alone?!I’m only trying to make my life easy again,is that too much to ask?”

She hinted. “You don't have to do anything Phidel.” Phidelia chipped in, trying to change her sister's mind on what she had come to do. “ I don't want you wasting your future for this.” She added, drawing closer to her sister as she sniffed back her tears. “You should leave your own life to the fullest without any guilt. I hold no grudges against you nor Mum and Dad. All I want now is for you guys to be happy.” She affirmed, staring expectantly at Phidel.

“Sounds like you don’t want to dirty your hands with a used up woman like my sister. If you ever want a change of pace, you know where I will be.” Steve walks up to Daphne and grabs her harshly by the arm, “Apologize to your sister and her mate now!” He growled. “What? Am I wrong? She isn’t marked. She has been here for a couple of weeks and gone from the house even longer. Goddess knows how much she has been run through.”

Daphne had birth two children already and is quite ready to produce ten if given an opportunity. Therefore, she was free of her mother's constant mischief. His two younger sisters Arabella and Anabelle just turned eighteen and were entering their first season, and since they are barely out of leading strings, they are hardly a prey to their mother, as they still have time to make respectable matches. As for Richard, he had plans to marry, every man had plans to marry eventually, therefore he could say he was waiting for 'the one', Lord knows after what he had seen between his best friend and sister Richard could not help but hope for something more than just a title.

"Ever had a guy in here before?" She shakes her head. "No, the Daphne of my teenage years is way different than the Blaze I am now. For a time, I could have been Whitney's twin, believe it or not." I'm chuckling in my throat. There's no way this woman could have been like my sister. I don't believe it for a second. "No fuckin' way."

Though her excuse hadn't entirely convinced anyone, no one challenged her, and an uncomfortable silence lingered in her wake. As Daphne made her way upstairs, she collided with the newlyweds emerging from their room. Her sister's face was radiant, her smile stretching from ear to ear. The joy emanating from Sophia was infectious, and Daphne's heart swelled with happiness at the sight. "Hey, Daph," Sophia exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with delight. The sisters embraced warmly. "Good morning, Sophia... and to you too, Aiden," Daphne said, still holding onto her sister, her voice filled with warmth and affection.
