DAPHNE'S POV My stomach churned as I stepped out of the cab and faced the cinema, dread coiling tighter with every breath. Dad had called me to help out, but it made me uncomfortable because Zachary would be there. Daisy told me she had invited Hillary over, and he said he would bring Zachary along since they had been waiting for months to see the new release. I let out a deep breath and went in. I told myself I didn’t feel anything for him anymore… yet my body still tensed whenever he was near.

“Daisy killed herself, Jade. I tried to save her, I swear. Xavier lied to her, not us.” I clenched my fists, my heart pounding, wanting to rush in but knowing we had to wait for the police. Jade’s voice rose, sharp and accusing. “You’re a liar,” she said. “You made sure Daisy was gone, so you could be Oliver’s wife, kissing him, raising her twins, bonding with them, the heiress of Symphony Ballet Theatre. You’re so strategic, Daphne, a fake, a thief.” Daphne sobbed, her voice breaking. “I’m not,” she said. “I didn’t want this. Daisy was my twin, I loved her. Please, Jade, believe me.”

“Listen, I love this little rebellion thing you’ve got going on here, but what happens if he actually tracks you down and finds you here?” “He’s not going to find me,” Daphne said boldly. “Yeah? Think again, hot mom.” Rosalind snorted. “Storm was completely head over heels for you long before you ever got pregnant. Don't tell me you forgot the time you vanished for six hours during the opening of the second farmer’s market? The man literally mobilized his warriors and searched three different packs just to find you.” Daphne stopped dead in her tracks, her jaw slack. “What?”

It seemed like there were a lot of things she didn't know about the omegas. As they ate, Daphne closely observed them. She hasn't heard of any of them, but she would love to know what happened that caused the unfortunate alpha to lose his head. "Can you tell me your names? I would like to know them." She started cautiously. This was just the first step. "What? You didn't do your research?" Alpha Alan, the one who attacked her verbally, grunted. Daphne wiped her mouth with a tissue. "I did my research." She answered sarcastically. "It's Alpha Daphne to you. I am not Marcel Mclain's little mate. I rejected him, and I have a husband. You will respect the both of us."

“Forgive me, my Queen. I never got the chance to introduce myself to you earlier on.” Daphnée nodded her head and walked around it to Dante and pushed him out of the way. She pulled open one drawer and took out the pink box of truffles. Closing the drawer, she walked back to the chairs and sat down. She handed Raffael one of them and said, “Go help your partner. I want to be alone with my husband.” After he left with a bitter expression on his face, Dante said, “I see you are playing your role well.”

He was the most dangerous man she would ever come across, and she didn't want to have anything to do with him. She was not the one he asked for. It was supposed to be Ophelia. Why were they doing this to her? What was she going to do? Who would fight for her? Adrian could do that, but he wasn't. Now that she thought about it, she realized also for the first time since one year of their marriage that he did not care about her just as she thought. Perhaps, he thought he was doing her a favor. He was, or wasn't he? Daphne had been a weak Omega wolf from birth and was bullied by so many people—not until she was married to Adrian who she believed came to save the day.

All the grandeur and money could not erase the pain I had seen in Dane's eyes. Silence throughout the meal, Katherine played her part in this macabre theatre, her presence a constant reminder of the complex dynamics at play. It was clear Dane knew her. I wish he had told me about her before we arrived. Like so many other things I'd wished I'd known about before.

“Hm, honestly Grace is too good for him.” Debbie is with her friends in the middle of their conversation about the hottest news about an extracurricular member who just became a couple and lately became a lively conversation. Debbie also agrees with the words of her friends about the figure of Grace that even in her eyes, Grace is the owner of a beautiful smile. “But it's not over there yet!” The sound is made as low as possible so that only they can hear. "The more surprising word, Harry confesses his love to Grace even though he already knows she is his best friend's girlfriend. Which, of course, will be rejected.”

My brows rose, Daphne shouldn't have bothered, she just gave birth, she shouldn't be moving so much. “ Daphne shouldn't come, she's still recovering from bi—” “ My baby!!!” Daphne's voice came as she rushed in her daughter trailing behind her. “ Auntie!!!” Her small voice called after as she rushed to my bedside, Harrison stood giving them space. “ What happened?” Daphne cupped my cheeks, worry etched in her voice. My gaze shifted to Harrison, who's gaze communicated a secret threat one which translated to “ say a word and I'll fucking kill you”

"Who's Martina by the way?" "You don't know?" Colin asked back and Daphne shakes her head. "Hills' ex fiancee" Daphne raised her brows and nodded as realization dawned on her. "I remember now! It totally escaped my mind" Daphne said as they sat down. "Do you think she and Damon are working together?" "It's obvious from the video" Daphne sighed, then said again.. "Do you have her picture? I'd like to see what she looks like"
