Cynthia cried when she saw Dolf raise one of his heavy paws high above Jarrett’s heart, and as he shoved it down, cracking Jarrett’s chest and tearing through his heart, “No!”
Damien, who was once thrashing around, had gone still—silent, in fact. He looked minutes away from passing out. Cynthia’s screams grew louder by the second, but Dolf remained still, his paw still deep within Jarrett’s chest.
“Say hi to Tristan for me when you get to hell,” Dolf said conclusively, still staring down at Jarrett’s bloodshot and wide eyes.
With that, Dolf retracted his hand from Jarrett’s chest, ripping out his heart in the process.
